The HTC One and the HTC One X+ have started receiving the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean software update topped with HTC Sense 5 in some European countries.
HTC launched the HTC One X in Feb. 2012 and the HTC One X+ in Oct. 2012. Both handsets are pre-loaded with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and the HTC One X+ comes with Sense 4+ instead of the Sense 4 found on the HTC One X.
"It's worth underscoring that this update is for the European HTC One X (codename Endeavor), not the AT&T One X, known internationally as the One XL (codename Evita). So far there are reports that the update is hitting Nordic countries and parts of Eastern Europe first, including Slovakia and Denmark; other European countries should be getting the OTA in the hours and days ahead," reports Android Central.
It's not been long since some Asian countries received the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 on their HTC One X+. Now a thread on XDA Developers forum suggests that the long-awaited Jelly Bean and Sense 5 are reaching both the HTC One X and the HTC One X+ in some parts of Europe.
"HOX and HOX+ started getting 4.18.401.2 and 2.18.401.2 updates. Have fun ;)," tweeted @LlabTooFeR.
The Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is expected to bring a number of improvements to both handsets. The software update will bring new HTC BlinkFeed home, new lock screen style, electronic gadgets, added display, the battery meter in the status bar options and new sleep mode switch. The latest update also improves the notifications panel.
In the U.S., many customers would have been tied to a two-year contract, which would end sometime in 2014. As such, HTC One X and HTC One X+ customers in the U.S. would definitely welcome the latest software update.
HTC One X and HTC One X + customers in the U.S. will be hoping that they receive Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software update on their handsets as soon as possible, but it seems that they have to wait a bit longer.
