Twitter Tests Letting Users Put Multiple Photos, Videos, GIFs in a Single Tweet

With Twitter's current features, you can only post one form of media with every tweet. This is bound to change soon.

Twitter has started testing a new feature wherein users are allowed to post images, videos, plus GIFs in just a single multimedia tweet, as per Tech Crunch. This new feature will let users combine multiple formats in a tweet.

Twitter Wants to Know How People Converse More Creatively in the Platform

The test was confirmed by Twitter who said some users can use it for a limited time. The company added that users can add tags to both photos and videos in the tweet.

"We're testing a new feature with select accounts for a limited time that will allow people to mix up to four media assets into a single tweet, regardless of format," the company said in a statement.

Twitter said that they have observed that users are having more of a visual conversations on the platform. Users are using images, GIFS and videos to make these conversations more exciting, according to Engadget.

Thus, according to Twitter, the test will enable them to learn "how people combine these different media formats to express themselves more creatively on Twitter beyond 280 characters."

While some users can already use it for a limited time, we do not have a clear picture yet on how the different media would appear in a single tweet.

Based on the screenshots from the app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi back in April, it appears like users will see the different media "in a carousel in the tweet composer." This will be something that users can easily take down or add or rearrange the order.

The second experiment allows iOS users to start a space from the retweet menu. When you do this, you will immediately go live because you will skip the usual setup. Then, the tweet will be pinned automatically at the top of the Space.

Twitter has also started testing "Notes," or a way to write and post long-form content on the platform. As part of the initial testing phase, this new feature is accessible to a small group of writers in the United States, Canada, Ghana, and the United Kingdom.

Those who are included in the testing stage gets access to a new "Write" tab. This is where users can write their Notes.
