Two new heroes are heading to mobile fighting game Marvel Contest of Champions.
Mobile fighting game Marvel Contest of Champions are welcoming two new fighters this month. In a new trailer released, Pietro Maximoff also known as Quicksilver, alongside another champion, Galan, can be seen.
Galan Joins 'Marvel Contest of Champions' Fighters
Another hero is joining Marvel Contest of Champions. Galan will be released on August 11. He is the humble farmer of the planetary nursery who was earlier known as the "great devourer Galactus."
By gaining buffs, Galan can gather planetary mass. Once he gathered over 200, the Harvest will be activated by a heavy weight attack. This will give huge damage to enemy fights.
Galactus, the world-eating villain, is "one of Marvel's most notorious baddies," according to CBR.com. But he was, at one point, called Galan.
The Galan in the Marvel Contest of Champions' is a variant of the character who was granted the power to consume planets. Later on, he came up with a conclusion that killing billions of people every day is not a good idea.
Galan has all the powers of Galactus. However, he possesses better moral compass, which makes him an ideal addition to the game's roster of fighters.

Fans Voted Quicksilver to Join the Roster of Heroes
A vote to determine which Marvel Comics hero would join the game's roster was held by Marvel Contest of Champions developer Kabam, and Quicksilver was voted by fans, thus, he is heading to the game on August 25.
Quicksilver is the speedster brother of the Scarlet Witch. He moves so fast that he can effortlessly dodge enemy attacks. He can also stack debuffs on enemies while he's moving.
In addition, Quicksilver is able to gain momentum by "dodging enemy attacks and landing basic hits," as per Game Spot. As momentum increases, it unlocks abilities that culminated a state called terminal velocity.
Quicksilver in Marvel Contest of Champions is pretty much the Quicksilver that we know in the Marvel Comics. As a child, he was snatched up by the High Evolutionary together with his twin sister Wanda.
Quicksilver ended up with a mutation that gave him new high-speed powers. It is unclear how he's become an ally to Galan.
Two New Heroes Play Major Roles in New Story Content
A new story content associated with the fighters is being introduced in the Marvel Contest of Champions. Players will find Galan and Quicksilver as major players in Worldheart, the latest story event.
Worldheart revolves around the search for the Cosmic Seed, a powerful Asgardian artifact that can potentially create new Worldtree right in the middle of Battlerealm, which is the setting of Contest of Champions.
The story involves a summoner who is conducting an investigation on the lost Cosmic Seed. During the search, they come across Quicksilver battling The Silver Surfer.
As part of an additional promotion for the upcoming release of the She-Hulk TV series, those who will download and log into Contest of Champions will be able to receive She-Hulk for free. This will start on August 17 until September 28.
