Microsoft appears to be working on another Xbox controller.
Gamers are suspecting that Microsoft is preparing to release another Xbox controller after they saw a video clip of a white controller being unboxed on YouTube.
The gamers were intrigued by what model the controller was shown to be, but later figured out that it was an unreleased Xbox Elite 2 controller.
Xbox's Newest Controller
A new Xbox controller has resurfaced online. It would appear that Microsoft is working on a new white model of the Xbox Elite 2 controller at the moment.
An unannounced Xbox Elite 2 controller can be seen in a video that has been uploaded to YouTube. The controller has a white faceplate and black grips.
The video was released several months after a white Xbox Elite 2 controller was said to have been seen at a retailer in the United States at the beginning of this year.
The newest Xbox controller was spotted during a very brief YouTube video uploaded by a user named Nicholas Lugo. Lugo claims that the white Xbox Elite 2 controllers were purchased in the U.S.
A Twitter user named Rebs Gaming posted the video on Twitter, stating, "I think this is our first footage of the Xbox Elite Series 2 White Edition controller."
However, it is yet unclear whether the controller was available for purchase at a store in the United States or whether Microsoft has any plans to release a white version of its Xbox Elite 2 controller in the near future.
According to The Verge, before the leak of this alleged second-generation Xbox Elite controller, it has been four years since Microsoft has decided to release the original version of the white Xbox Elite controller.
Later on this month, Microsoft will be attending Gamescom, the same convention that the company selected in 2018 as the venue for the announcement of its white Xbox Elite controller.
Some are suspecting and hoping that Microsoft will also announce this controller during an event.
Xbox Newest Feature
Assuming that Xbox will release the second generation of the Elite controller, the gaming console has recently partnered with Discord to have the voice feature aboard in their platform.
Microsoft is expanding the capabilities of Xbox when it comes to communication, and one of the new additions to the platform is Discord.
This update release for Discord integration enables Discord Voice on Xbox systems. This specific feature has been the most requested by a significant number of gamers for such a significant amount of time.
This makes it possible for gamers to have voice conversations with anyone on Discord through voice channels or group calls directly from their console, making it much simpler to communicate with friends on PC, mobile, and Xbox consoles.
Gaming Industry
It is not surprising that the latest iteration of hardware devices and software programs in the gaming industry experience delays.
Despite years being in the pandemic, gaming companies like Sony for PlayStation, Microsoft for Xbox, and Nintendo, have suffered decline in sales as part of some sort of material shortages.
According to NDP, "overall total consumer spending on video gaming in the U.S. totaled $12.35 billion in the second quarter (Q2) of 2022 (April - June), a decline of 13% when compared to Q2 2021."
