Genshin Impact 3.0 Update is Set to Arrive Soon — Is There an Exact Date?

Genshin Impact's newest location will be available later this month.

HoyoVerse recently announced that its long-awaited region, Sumeru, will be made available on Genshin Impact's 3.0 update, which will be released in late August, per Engadget.

As with every new region in Genshin Impact, it also comes with new playable characters, gameplay mechanics, and lore that could expand what happened in Teyvat 500 years ago.

Genshin Impact 3.0 Features And Details

Genshin Impact's 3.0 update will finally make Sumeru, the next region the traveler will be visiting, available to explore to players. This addition means that the Dendro element, an element previously available only to Dendro slimes, can be used by the traveler and characters with Dendro visions, per PCGamesN.

The new update will also make three new playable characters available for pulling in the game's gacha: the Dendro archers Collei and Tighnari and an Electro claymore wielder named Dori, per IGN.

Collei and Dori are four-star characters, while Tighnari is a five-star character.

Interestingly, HoYoverse will allow all players to recruit Collei for free as soon as the update is live, allowing people to explore the new elemental reactions concerning the Dendro element.

However, for players to acquire more copies of Collei to complete her constellation, they'll have to pull for either of the two wish banners available in the first phase of 3.0.

The double-Wish banners during update 3.0's first phase consist of Tighnari's banner along with a rerun banner for Zhongli. Meanwhile, Collei will be available on both banners.

Tighnari's signature bow, Hunter's Path, will be available on the game's weapon banner during the first phase. However, players short on primogems and wishes can craft a fish-themed bow and a whole new set of weapons from Sumeru to equip their characters with.

For the second phase of the update, the double-wish banner will feature Ganyu and Kokomi, with Dori being available for both banners.

DualShockers reported that although the banners of both phases are "ver lucrative," it puts players into a dilemma as the first provides new Dendro characters. Meanwhile, the second phase has two of the most anticipated characters for a rerun, meaning that pulling in the second phase is also a good option for people looking for a solid fice-star character.

The 3.0 update will also come with new time-limited events that players can earn primogems for the game's gacha. "Graven Innocence" will task players to collect images and experiment in combat throughout Sumeru to inspire toymakers. It is also during this event that Collei can be recruited for free.

The "Fayz Trials," 3.0's main combat event, allows players to take control of trial characters and use a special potion to stop time and deal heavy damage to enemies. Completing the event will provide players with primogems for the gacha or the Battle Pass.

The "Tablet Analytics " event is similar to the "Fayz Trails," but this time, players will have to use random buffs to clear challenges of increasing difficulty to earn primogems and ascension materials.

Last but not least is the "Lost Riches" event, wherein players are tasked with collecting and exchanging items for "practical treasures," which includes a new Seelie pet.

Genshin Impact 3.0 Release Date

Genshin Impact's 3.0 update will be available globally on August 23 or 24 depending on the timezone.

However, what is interesting about the game's upcoming updates is that it does away with Hoyoverse's six-week waiting period for new updates. As such, players can expect to see versions 3.1, 3,2, and 3.3 on Sept. 28, Nov. 2, and Dec. 7, respectively, per HoYoverse.
