Netflix Gives Viewers a First Look at 'Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities'

Netflix revealed the first look of Guillermo del Toro's "Cabinet of Curiosities."

The horror anthology series "Cabinet of Curiosities" is the newest addition to the catalog of shows that will be broadcast on the streaming service.

The series created by Guillermo del Toro will consist of eight episodes, each of which will tell a unique terrifying narrative and include a new cast in addition to a different director.

The "Cabinet of Curiosities" will bring together some of the most acclaimed directors in the horror genre to collaborate on what will be Netflix's premier anthology series.

Netflix posted a teaser on Twitter in order to give viewers a preview of what to expect from the next horror series.

The online streaming service announced that "Cabinet of Curiosities" will have its premiere on October 25 as a four-day event that will feature double episodes each day.

According to IGN, the series will be released over the course of four days during a "Netflix & Chills" Halloween event that will take place in October. During this event, two horror stories from del Toro's new series will appear each day through October 28.

Netflix's 'Cabinet of Curiosities'

According to Polygon, here are some of the stories and episode titles that are revealed to be included in the horror series.

  • 'Dreams in the Witch House'

One of the episodes of the series is called "Dreams in the Witch House." This episode is directed by Black Mirror and Catherine Hardwicke. Hardwicke is also popularly known for directing the movie Twilight.

This episode will be based on the short story created by H.P. Lovecraft that will be written by Mika Watkins. "Dreams in the Witch House" will star Rupert Grint, Ismael Cruz Cordova, DK Qualls, Nia Vardalos, and Tenika Davis.

  • 'Pickman's Model'

Another episode of the horror series is called "Pickman's Model." This is another episode of Cabinet Curiosities that features another adaptation of the story that originated from H.P. Lovecraft.

The episode will be written by Lee Patterson and directed by Firestarter's Keith Thomas which will feature Oriana Leman and Crispon Glover.

  • 'Graveyard Rats'

Cabinet of Curiosities will air an episode based on the short story originally created by Henry Kuttner. This episode is called "Graveyard Rats" and is written and directed by Vincenzo Natali.

This episode will feature David Hewlett who is popularly known for starring in The Shape of Water.

  • 'Lot 36'

Next episode in the upcoming Netflix series is called "Lot 36." The story of this episode is based on Guillermo del Toro's original story that will be adapted by Regina Corrado. This del Toro story, "Lot 36," will have Sebastian Roché, Elpidia Carillo, Tim Blake Nelson, and Demetrius Grosse.

  • 'The Murmuring'

"The Murmuring" will be an episode that will be rooted from an original short story created by Guillermo del Toro which will be directed by Jennifer Kent who is also the director from The Babadook horror movie. This will feature actors Essie Davis, Hannah Galway, and Andrew Lincoln.

  • 'The Autopsy'

The horror series will also feature an episode named "The Autopsy." "The Autopsy" will be based on the short story created by Michael Shea, which will be directed by David Prior and written by David S. Goyer. This episode will have actors like Glynn Turman, F. Murray Abraham, and Luke Roberst.

  • 'The Outside'

Netflix's Cabinet of Curiosities will also have an episode based on a short story by Emily Carroll, who is popularly known as a comic book author.

"The Outside'' will be written by Haley Z. Boston and directed by Ana Lily Amirpour and starring Martin Starr and Kate Micucci.

  • 'The Viewing'

Lastly, another episode that is coming to the series is called "The Viewing." "The Viewing" episode is a collaborative work from Panos Cosmatos and Aaron Stewart-Ahn.

What is known so far in this episode is it will feature Saad Siddiqui, Eric André, Sofia Boutella, Peter Weller, Michael Therrialt, Charlyne Yi, and Steve Agee.
