Tesla denies Bloomberg's recent report, which claims that the legal chief of the electric vehicle (EV) maker has parted ways with the Elon Musk-led tech giant.
The American automaker denied the story in its rare Twitter response, clarifying that the head of legal at Tesla, David Searle, is still with the renowned tech firm.
Tesla Denies Legal Exec's Departure
As per a recent report by Electrek, the giant automaker made a rare move on Twitter, denying a news story stating that its head of legal has already left the tech firm.
Tesla went on to use social media, particularly its official Twitter account, to respond to the latest news story about its legal chief, Searle.
Electrek highlights that the EV maker rarely responds to reports since it dismantled its press relations department roughly two years ago.
And as such, the giant tech firm has stopped responding to media outlets to give its comments on various news since the PR department closed down.
It is why reports about Tesla usually come with a disclaimer that the American automaker failed to respond after a news outlet tried to reach out for comments.
But this time, the Musk-owned firm surprised everyone when it clearly denied a news story from Bloomberg.
The business-focused news outlet shared its recent report about Tesla's legal chief on its verified Twitter account. The story initially claimed that Searle already left the EV maker.
However, Tesla begs to differ.
The official Twitter of the automaker denies that its head of legal has left the firm, slapping the media outlet that the news article is "false."
The tweet, which directly replied to the Bloomberg story, wrote that "David Searle has not left Tesla."
Tesla Legal Chief's Departure Report
According to the recent story by Bloomberg, Searle is no longer the head of legal at Tesla after he reportedly left the post two months ago.
The media outlet says three sources close to the matter have confirmed the changes at Tesla.
The same people further claim that the deputy general counsel of the EV maker, Dinna Eskin, is now the head of legal, allegedly replacing Searle.
Bloomberg highlights in its report that while Tesla denied the departure of Searle from the automaker, the firm did not specifically mention his current position.
Meanwhile, Electrek notes that Bloomberg stands by its story that Tesla has made changes in its head of legal.
It is worth noting that the EV maker did not actually deny that Searle is no longer its legal chief. The Musk-led firm only stated is that he is still working with the automaker. But it did not address any leadership changes.
