'Day Shift' Music Video Features Dave Franco Dancing Routines and Vampire Hunts
Dave Franco gives the impression that he wants us to be fully aware of how much he enjoys playing characters who aspire to be musicians. This time, he managed to have himself included on a Jamie Foxx song for their Netflix vampire movie "Day Shift," and a new music video was just published.
The music video for "Bud," which was directed by Taylor Chien, has a lot of lens flares, wacky jeep rides, Dave Franco dance moves, and "Day Shift" footage of vampire killing action. Meagan Good, another co-star from the movie, also appears in the footage.
Bud (Foxx), the protagonist of the movie, is a member of an international organization of vampire hunters by night and operates a pool cleaning business in the San Fernando Valley by day. Seth, a co-star who regards Bud as his best friend, is played by Franco.
Fans of Jamie Foxx know the Oscar-winning actor loves to celebrate his parts by penning songs about them, such as "Chasing Spiders" from "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and "100 Black Coffins" from "Django Unchained," and the movie has been trending on Netflix.
Foxx didn't wait long before putting out a song to promote his most recent album for a movie. The song "Bud (Mowing Down Vamps)," which he made with Foxx, and the BSB Boys, is about friendship. It came about when Franco made up the line "mowing down vamps with my best friend Bud" at the end of filming.
In an Instagram video, Foxx claimed that Franco's innocuous remark ignited a revolution, inspiring him to pick up his camera and urge him to record Franco repeating what he'd just said.
'Day Shift' Hits on Netflix Amidst Criticisms
With the brand-new "Day Shift" rocketing to the top of the streaming service's rankings in August 2022, Netflix now has a new number one movie in both the US and the UK.
With "Day Shift" now holding the top spot in both regions, it is clear that millions and millions of viewers find the story of a LA vampire hunter in search of a vast payday fascinating.
The absurd thing is that the film is at the top of the charts despite receiving a dismal 58% aggregate score on Rotten Tomatoes from prominent reviewers. A "Certified Rotten" total rating is included with this.
The film's script, according to Todd McCarthy of Deadline Hollywood Daily, never even attempts to meet the challenge, leading to a jumble of pandemonium that, at over two hours, is also a half-hour too long for its own or anybody else's, good.
According to Peter Bradshaw of the Guardian, nothing is alluring or sensual about these vampires, and the rough, uninteresting action sequences with their video-game appearance are a big challenge.
Why then is "Day Shift" the new top movie on Netflix? The truth is that detractors may not accurately represent the great majority of Netflix members, which might be the solution.
However, judging by the higher review approval ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, there seems to be some affection for the movie's lead Jamie Foxx, who many critics seem to believe is too talented for this one. Many reviewers also point out that the action scenes stand out.
