AAA games these days usually cost people $60 for the base game alone, which could be a deterrent for other people to try the game out.
However, there has been an occurrence somewhere in the world where people were able to preorder a AAA game online for only six cents.
The Epic Games Store in India has been reported to have listed the ultimate edition of EA's FIFA 23 as ₹4.80, per Kotaku.
EA announced that it would honor the preorders made at the incorrect price, meaning it will not ask for more money from gamers who have already bought the game for ₹4.80, per Game Rant.
FIFA 23 - Epic Games Store India Mess Up Details
Reports claim that Epic Games Store's mess up started in July when anyone browsing the Epic Games Store in India noticed that instead of offering FIFA 23's Ultimate edition's price, which is ₹44,799, it is being offered at ₹4.80 - six cents only.
Sporting News mentioned in its article that the game was listed with the incorrect price tag. Since the price of the game was essentially a steal, people in India and abroad were quick to get the game for six cents to make the most of the incorrect listing.
The people who got the game were right to be excited. FIFA 23 is the last title of EA's football game series following the company's fallout with FIFA. The trailers of the game also focused on the game's various modes and revealed information about the newly-added features of FIFA Pro Clubs and career mode.

Additionally, FIFA's Ultimate edition, which comes with exclusive player picks, free packs, and even some benefits for FIFA 23 Ultimate Team players, is only available online. This exclusivity makes it such a desirable game to get.
As such, when people became aware that the game could be purchased at a much cheaper price than usual, they did. The excitement then caused the rush that happened in July.
People who have bought the game for six cents have also gone to social media to brag about their purchase, especially on Twitter.
EA's Response To The Incorrect Listing
Fortunately, the Epic Games Store did not cancel the preorders made at the incorrect price, as was the norm. Online stores regardless if it is an online game store like Steam or the Epic Games Store, wouldn't bother canceling purchases should there be a small discrepancy. However, with a price difference this big, online stores usually have to along with correcting the mistake.
Fortunately, EA has announced it will not cancel the preorders made under the incorrect price, per Full Squad Gaming's tweet.
"A few weeks back, we scored a pretty spectacular own-goal when we inadvertedly offered FIFA 23 pre-purchase on the Epic Games Store at an incorrect price," EA said in a letter it sent to players who purchased the game for six cents. "It was our mistake, and we wanted to let let you know that we'll be honoring all pre-purchases made at that price."
PC Gamer reports that an EA representative has confirmed that the letter the company sent is accurate.
