Netflix's new ad-supported tier is potentially debuting with a few commercial-free movies, particularly the newly-released films.
The upcoming cheaper plan of the giant streaming service is likely to give its users few uninterrupted contents, including fresh film releases and shows for kids.
Netflix Ad-Supported Tier: Will There Be Commercial-Free Movies?
According to the latest report by Bloomberg, Netflix is currently working to make some of the contents in its upcoming ad-supported subscription plan free from annoying commercials.
For instance, Netflix has reportedly decided to ditch apps for its original shows for young minds, the anonymous sources of the media outlet disclose.
On top of its original programming, it turns out that some studios of these kids' shows have refused to let the streaming service stuff ads in their content.
But besides content for kiddos, the giant streaming service has reportedly expanded its ad-free offering in its upcoming cheaper service.
Commercial-Free Movies on Netflix Ad Tier: How it Works
The recent Bloomberg report claims that Netflix is likely to initially ditch ads on its original movie content during its debut on the streaming service.
Instead, the new ad tier might start showing ads when these original films have been sitting on Netflix for quite a while. But during their release, its subscribers could still enjoy them completely ad-free.
However, as per a news story by The Verge, it remains to be seen how long before ads start showing on recently released original movies.
It appears that the giant streamer is trying to keep top-notch filmmakers who might not agree with ads running on the debut of their masterpieces.
Cheaper Netflix Plan, But with Ads
It is worth noting that Netflix has yet to confirm if it does actually plan to ditch ads on newer movie releases on its upcoming tier.
In fact, the upcoming Netflix plan, which includes ads for various content, is still in the works.
And as such, these early updates regarding the ad-supported tier might not be the final version of it yet. We might see a bunch of changes before it officially launches sometime next year or in 2023.
According to a report by Engadget, the renowned streamer says that its "lower priced, ad-supported option" has yet to reach its final form.
Instead, Netflix notes that its team is still deciding how to launch the upcoming tier.
The top brass of the giant streaming platform has recently confirmed that it would be launching a new ad-supported option.
The new tier follows the subscriber decline of Netflix, which is notably the first time for more than a decade.
