The Last Of Us TV Series Trailer Details
The trailer for HBO's "The Last of Us" TV series is filled with moments fans of the game will recognize despite its 20-second run time. It features Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, who play Joel and Ellie, respectively, reenacting a scene directly lifted from the original 2013 game.
We also see a flashback of Joel carrying his biological daughter during the initial onset of the mutated Cordyceps brain infection from the game.
The trailer also contains a glimpse of Nick Offerman as Bill and our first possible look at what a Clicker, a person at the third stage of Cordyceps brain infection, would look like in the TV series.
The Clicker could be dead, though, as Polygon reports that the Clicker seen in the last few seconds of the trailer seems to be seemingly dead.
The trailer only ran for 20 seconds as the whole video was dedicated to showcasing what's coming to HBO Max in the coming months, which also includes the "Game of Thrones" prequel, "The House of the Dragon."
The Last Of Us TV Series Details
HBO is right to feature "The Last of Us" TV series in the trailer. The HBO original TV series is said to allegedly follow the game's events, allowing fans of the 2013 game to get a sense of nostalgia and familiarity with the events portrayed in the TV series.
The game and the TV series follow the story of Joel and Ellie, two unlikely partners who are making their way through a post-apocalyptic United States years after the Cordyceps brain infection has spread across the country. This infection was and still is turning people into dangerous and highly infectious monstrosities during the events of the game and the TV series.
Along the way, they will meet and encounter all kinds of characters ranging from friendly survivors to dangerous gangs.
CNET reports that the TV series is being directed and led by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin. He is also joined by Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann, who will act as the TV series executive producer.
Druckmann led the development of the 2013 game as its writer and creative director.
Pascal and Ramsey were co-stars in HBO's previous hit, "Game of Thrones," where Pascal played the Prince of Dorne, Oberyn Martell, and Ramsey acted as the Lady of Bear Island, Lyanna Mormont.
