Elon Musk's Neuralink to Hold a 'Show and Tell' Event on October 31

Neuralink, a company owned by Elon Musk, will be showing more of its works. Musk said in an announcement that the company is bound to hold a "show and tell" progress event on October 31.

People have been curious on what the company has been up to for the longest time now. The last big demo of Neuralink involved a monkey playing Pong, as per Engadget. Thus, it's interesting to see what the company will show this time.

'Show and Tell' Progress Event Will Happen on Halloween

Through his Twitter account, Elon Musk announced that a "progress update show and tell" for Halloween 2022 will be held by Neuralink, focusing on the company's technology.

Aside from the announcement, Musk did not provide other information regarding what to expect in the upcoming Halloween event. He also did not provide any information regarding the actual progress of the company.

During the event, there might be a significant update from Musk about the company's ventures after its silence for several months. Information regarding the possible application of brain implants for clinical use might be available, as per Tech Times.

The event will be held this coming October 31. A live stream will be available for public viewing, while there is still a speculation that there will be an in-person event.

Neuralink has not started yet with human trials as the Food and Drug Administration hasn't given the company a green light yet. The agency didn't specify when the company would receive and approval.

Since Neuralink has been founded six years ago, a number of its co-founders decided to leave the company. According to Engadget (via Fortune), "flawed workplace culture" is to be blamed for the matter.

The timing of the presentation is fitting as it comes when rumors have circulated that "Neuralink has offered to invest in its rival Synchron," as per Engadget.

According to reports, Synchron has recently completed the first endovascular installation of a brain-computer interface in the US.

As of writing, there is no confirmation of a deal yet, but the event could provide an opportunity to seek answers regarding Synchron's possible involvement.

The Works of Neuralink

According to a report by Tech Times, Neuralink is seeking for a new clinical trials director who will work for the company. This suggests that perhaps the company is already ready to venture to human trials.

The company's technology is initially focused on offering people with paraplegia a chance to walk again, however, many possible applications are also put into considerations.

Previously, Musk stated that Neuralink's brain implants will promote "AI symbiosis," or making the system's features integrated in a person.

These strong claims by the CEO have no concrete proofs yet. As of writing, there are no confirmations yet regarding the actual use of the technology for the public.

During its testing phase, Neuralink provided the brain implants to animals. Unfortunately, one of the test monkeys died in the process.

However, there's looming possibility that Neuralink already applied its famous "Fitbit for brains" to humans. That information remains to be confirmed in the upcoming event.
