Ready Player Received $56 Million for Its Avatar Platform

A $56 million funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has been completed for Ready Player Me, a cross-game metaverse avatar platform. With its cross-platform metaverse approach, which encourages interoperable avatars, the New York business has succeeded. More than 3,000 game and app developers use Ready Player Me's avatars.

Some notable investors include Kevin Hart's Hartbeat VenturesD, the Amelio family, Punk6529, Snowfro, Collab Currency, Plural, Konvoy Ventures, and David Baszucki, cofounder of Roblox, Justin Kan, cofounder of Twitch, Sebastian Knutsson, and Riccardo Zacconi, cofounders of King, as well as others.

Ready Player Me is in over 3,000 Web2 and Web3 apps, including VRChat, Spatial, Somnium Space, and RTFKT. The company collaborates with Adidas, New Balance, Dior, Pull&Bear, and Warner Brothers (Dune movie clothes)to create cross-game avatar assets for the metaverse

Interoperability will enable the complete metaverse experience throughout games, environments, and apps, according to Timmu Tõke, CEO of Ready Player Me, who said this in an interview with GamesBeat. Users will be able to maintain a consistent identity throughout all experiences.

The money, according to him, will enable Ready Player Me to continue growing the avatar system to increase its adaptability for developers. It will also develop new tools to assist them in making money from avatar assets and tools for individual creators to participate in the cross-game avatar market.

Ready Player One suggests that an open metaverse with millions of interconnected experiences would improve user, creative, and economic experiences. An interoperable user ID and avatar create a smooth user experience in the open metaverse. An open market for avatar assets will boost the metaverse's growth and producers' incomes.

Rolling Stone Will Discuss 'Street Fighter V's' Previews on Twitch

The king of all fighting games, Street Fighter V, comes to consoles and PC with Street Fighter 6 next year, six years after the release of the most recent iteration and around its 35th anniversary. A special preview of the game's music from Rolling Stone will be available on Twitch. The character themes for the combatants Kimberly and Juri will be unveiled by Rolling Stone live on its Twitch daily show on August 26 with a few more surprises.

The information was about the team who debuted at the EVO 2022 fighting game tournament. Brawler Kimberly is a new rival whose characteristics best represent the focus on the retro hip-hop culture aesthetic that the developers are infusing into this series iteration, harkening back to its roots in early-Nineties arcades. At the same time, Juri, a returning fan favorite with a sleek redesign, is a returning competitor.

On Twitch, the game producer Shuhei Matsumoto, the leading composer and music director Yoshiya Terayma, and the executive music producer Koyo Sonae will all be interviewed exclusively by Rolling Stone.

Along with the music, broadcasters Jon Weigell and Charlie Cooper will participate in a live, on-air eight-man, single-elimination competition using the most recent version of Street Fighter 6. Staff members from Rolling Stone, fans and members of the Twitch community, and some particular surprise challenges, will compete.
