Samsung Shares Video of How Foldable Phones are Assembled with the Help of Robots

In terms of durability, Samsung made a leap with the foldables that it released last year. The Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 offer serious water resistance plus an IPX8 rating, indicating that the company is serious when it comes to making durable devices.

This year's phone, the Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, are an "engineering marvel," as per The Verge. In a video, Samsung shares how their foldable phones are assembled with the help of robots.

Samsung Shows the Tests that Their Foldables Undergo

Many smartphone enthusiasts are probably already aware that Samsung has officially launched its new batch of foldable technology, as per Forbes. The new devices include phablet Fold4 and retro-inspired Flip4.

When we buy our smartphones, its already a fully functional device and we are not aware of what goes into the process of making and testing a foldable micro-computer.

To give users a peek on the process of assembling a foldable, Samsung released a video yesterday via YouTube. The video detailed how manufactured mobile device are made in the factory before they are shipped to the eager buyers.

Samsung begins what's going on in the back covers. Afterwards, it proceeds to functional testing. This procedure makes sure that things like the S Pen and proximity sensors work.

As the process goes on, it proceeds to the network, camera, wireless charging and flex testing. Immediately after that, the device goes to the folding table. This is the part where the phones are fold and unfold countless time by numerous robotic arms.

According to Forbes, perhaps Samsung is trying to get close to the company's 200,000 fold limit claim.

After folding and unfolding the phones, tiny robot fingers push all the inputs, over and over.

The last part of the video is the through test of the IPX8 water resistance. Here, the Fold 4s and Flip 4s get sprayed and dunked.

Samsung Shows How Durable Their Phones Are in a Video

The video from Samsung doesn't show the Galaxy Z Flip 4 undergoing the same tests. However, the company's newly debuted smartphone was seen in the last water resistance test, meaning the company also subjects the smaller phone through the same series of tests.

It's a good practice that Samsung test their devise to such lengths, and it is only a must as Fold4 comes with a hefty price. According to Forbes, its still too early to decide whether these devices will "hold up" to actual, real life daily use.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 just made their debut in the market today. These two devices are fourth generation foldable phones by the company.

Samsung released the video to further ease the concerns of the buyers regarding the durability of the phones. The video showed some of the tests that the phones have undergone before being deemed fit for release to the market.

The short 100-second clip reveals all the thorough tests that phones undergone and it's a good move for Samsung, as it can assure their consumers that the foldables are indeed durable.
