Family plans for various subscription services have become ubiquitous these days. Giant video streamer Netflix and music and podcasting service Spotify offer a single payment option for families.

But most often than not, subscribers of these family options could not help but share it with their friends as well to save a few dollars down the line.

And earlier this August, the Redmond-based tech giant started trying out a new family plan for its Game Pass subscription service, as per the latest report by VG247.

The tech news website says that the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for families, which allows up to five members, costs roughly $21.83 or €21.99.

However, a new leak is saying that Microsoft will allow Xbox Game Pass subscribers to share their access with their friends besides their family members.

The news outlet reports that the current plan that Microsoft is testing in Colombia and Ireland is not necessarily exclusive to family members. Instead, the new option only requires that the other four users of the service need to be located in the same country.

Given that, the new family plan that Xbox is testing in these two locations could likely be branded as "Friends & Family."

The current test plan allows a total of five members to enjoy an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. But besides that, it also offers access to Xbox Live and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Not to mention that all users in the plan are getting their hands on the PC Game Pass version of supported gaming titles.

However, do take the leaked plan with a grain of salt. The gaming console maker has yet to confirm nor deny it.
