Amazon is currently offering the recently-released Verizon Motorola DROID MINI for $49.99 when signing a new 2-year contract, which allows for considerable savings over the $99.99 Verizon is charging.
Verizon and Motorola announced the newest members to its exclusive DROID family of smartphones a few weeks ago. The lineup includes the DROID ULTRA, DROID MAXX, and DROID MINI. The smartphones come packed with top-of-the-line specs and features. Motorola has included many of the innovative features found in its latest flagship smartphone, the Moto X, with the new DROIDS.
Unlike recent "mini" smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and HTC One Mini, Motorola decided to include the same high-end specs in the DROID MINI as the ones found in both the DROID ULTRA and DROID MAXX. The only major differences are that the DROID MINI has a 4.3-inch display compared to the 5-inch display found on its siblings and it's also less expensive at $99.99. Like the Moto X, the DROID MINI includes touchless controls that allow the smartphone to respond to commands even while it's asleep. You can launch apps, send texts, set alarms, and more by simply speaking out loud. It also includes the new notification system found on the Moto X that displays notifications on the smartphone's display even while the display is turned off. When you want to take a picture, you don't even need to turn on the phone and open the camera application, just twist your wrist twice while holding the DROID MINI and it automatically wakes and opens the camera application.
The DROID MINI features a 4.3-inch 1280 x 720 HD display and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It is powered by Motorola's new X8 Mobile Computing system, which includes a 1.7GHz dual-core application processor with quad-core graphics and 2GB of RAM to provide a smooth and fast user experience. It has 16GB of internal storage, a 10-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD recording, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Its wireless capabilities include a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC and a non-removable 2.130 mAh battery providing up to 28 hours of usage.
