Leaked Pics of Logitech’s Gaming Handheld Reveal a Steam Deck-Like Design

We now have a first glimpse of what Logitech's handheld console would look like.

Prolific leaker Evan Blass has recently tweeted a series of pictures that are allegedly of its handheld console, which is named the G Gaming Handheld.

Logitech may have sent a takedown notice to Blass as the handheld console's pictures are no longer available for viewing in his tweet.

Logitech Handheld Gaming Console Leak Details

Leaker Evan Blass has posted on his Twitter account three pictures of what Logitech's handheld gaming console would look like upon release. Based on the pictures, it can be argued that its design has similarities to more popular handheld consoles like the Steam Deck or the Nintendo Switch, per Engadget.

Like the previously mentioned handheld gaming consoles, the G Gaming Handheld has left and right joysticks, a direction pad on the device's left side, ABXY buttons on the right, a home button, and shoulder pads.

Unlike other handheld gaming consoles, Logitech's has a custom "G" button on the left side of the device.

Meanwhile, Logitech's G logo can be found at the back of the device, as well as textured grips on either side, per XDA Developers.

Its home screen also features icons for Google's Play Store, the Xbox Store, NVIDIA GeForce Now, Steam, Chrome, and YouTube.

It also has icons for user profiles, messages, settings, and power.

The reason for the icons is that Logitech is designing the G Gaming Handheld to offer support for multiple cloud gaming services to allow its users to play AAA games on the go.

The software UI the device is sporting suggests that the handheld console could run custom Android ROM, meaning that apps made for Android devices could be installed and opened using the handheld gaming console.

Unfortunately, Logitech may have sent a takedown notice to Blass, forcing him to remove the pictures he posted on Twitter. However, should this be true, it will only add more credibility to the leaker's information.

Logitech G Gaming Handheld gaming console Features, Specifications, Release Date

The Logitech G Gaming Handheld gaming console was announced to be in development in early August, per a separate Engadget report.

The device is said to be the fruit of Logitech and Tencent's partnership, wherein the device will blend Logitech G brand's software know-how with Tencent's software prowess, according to Logitech's statement.

The handheld gaming console is expected to hit store shelves sometime later this year, but whether both companies could make it in time during a supply chain crisis is unknown at the moment.

However, Logitech could use lower-power components that could make manufacturing easier for both companies.

The name of the device, the G Gaming Handheld, was discovered on a landing page published by Logitech. Visiting this page will give visitors an invitation to subscribe to a newsletter that will update them about the console's progress and release date.
