HTC recently launched the HTC One Mini and the company is now getting to launch another mini smartphone. New images and specs have leaked for the HTC Zara Mini.
HTC shows no signs of slowing down when it comes to releasing new smartphones in the near future. Its first phablet, the HTC One Max, is expected to officially make its official debut in the coming weeks, with a rumored October launch date. The company also plans on releasing another smartphone in Q4, which is going by the codename Zara. The handset is a mid-range device that looks similar to the HTC One, but uses a plastic case. It includes the front-facing dual stereo speakers found on the HTC One and will reportedly ship with Android 4.2 and a new version of HTC's UI, Sense 5.5.
The Zara was believed to be the last smartphone HTC would release in 2013, but it appears the company has had a change of heart. Just as it launched a mini version of the HTC One, the company will also release a Zara Mini.
Images of the Zara Mini were leaked on Weibo along with the mini smartphone's specs. The Zara Mini will be an entry-level smartphone that will reportedly feature a 4.3-inch 480 x 800 resolution TFT capacitive display and run Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The images show the Zara Mini running HTC Sense 5, but it's unclear if it will include the upcoming HTC Sense 5.5. It will be powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, possibly a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip and include a rather low 512MB of RAM. It will pack 8GB of internal storage and also have a microSD expansion slot with support for up to 64GB microSD cards.
The smartphone will also have a 5-megapixel rear camera with CMOS sensor, will be able to record 720p video and also include a 1.3megapixel front-facing camera. Its wireless capabilities include support to run on GSM/WCDMA networks, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. It will be offered in two color choices, black and white and its dimensions are 132x66x9.88mm, and it weighs 125g.
