Disney Is Planning To Create An Amazon-Like Membership, Disney Prime

Disney is creating an Amazon-like membership called Disney Prime.

Disney is planning to create a membership similar to Amazon's, potentially called Disney Prime, that will soon be made available to its customers.

The company is reportedly in its early stages of planning the inclusion and framework of the Amazon-like membership program.

Disney has researched not only Amazon Prime membership but also other subscription services in order to gather information for its own package offering.

The company is mulling over the possibility of launching it with the inclusion of its streaming platform Disney+ and also discounts on Disney-branded items and admission to Disney theme parks.

Disney's Amazon Prime Membership

The Disney group of services is planning to offer a new membership plan for its customers. For now, this membership program is called Disney Prime.

Disney Prime is planning to offer its customers a wide variety of services from the company. This membership plan will include discounts and bonuses from bundled experiences across its streaming services, amusement parks, resorts, and merchandise.

The company would tailor the Disney Prime membership to include exclusive benefits and perks. Disney expects that the program will take advantage of cross-selling opportunities among its many entertainment businesses in order to both give its customers more value and increase its revenue.

Aside from the unique experience it is planning to craft, Disney will also benefit in the process as they can use the information to learn more about their customers' behavior as they compile their preferences on travel, shows, and merchandise purchases.

According to Insider, Disney spokesperson, Kristina Schake, stated, "Technology is giving us new ways to customize and personalize the consumer experience so that we are delivering entertainment, experiences, and products that are most relevant to each of our guests."

The spokesperson stated that customers view Disney as more than just a brand. For them, it is a way of life, and the company is always looking for new ways to better meet their needs across all of the different ways they interact with the company.

Schake added, "A membership program is just one of the exciting ideas that is being explored as we consider ways to marry the physical and digital worlds to create the next generation of great Disney storytelling and experiences."

Disney Prime Experience

The Disney Prime membership program will allow customers of one Disney product or service to be eligible for discounts on purchases of other Disney goods and services, according to CNET.

As of the moment, the company has not yet released any information as to what the inclusions of the Disney Prime plans are and how much they would cost.

In addition, the company is also discussing the possibility of collaborating with outside parties in order to provide additional Disney experiences to customers, such as discounted tickets to Disney shows that are performed on Broadway.

Disney already provides some additional perks and discounts to Disney Plus subscribers for use at other Disney parks and resorts. However, this Amazon-like membership plan will expand its reach more.

For instance, Disney World is currently providing Disney Plus subscribers with a discount of 25% off hotel stays.
