Nokia Lumia 620 coming to AT&T's nationwide prepaid Aio Wireless in September

AT&T's prepaid wireless service, Aio Wireless, will be launching the Nokia Lumia 620 for $99.99 nationwide in September.

Aio Wireless is owned by AT&T and currently offers prepaid service and a number of smartphones, feature phones, and tablets in a few cities in the U.S. It is also the only carrier currently offering the Nokia Lumia 620 and it has just announced that it will be launching the service and smartphone to all U.S. customers in mid-September.

"Aio Wireless' first-class service with no annual contract is scheduled to be available online (www.aiowireless.com) to all U.S. customers starting in mid-September. We invite customers across the country to switch to Aio and experience our first class service with no annual contracts," said Jennifer Van Buskirk, president of Aio Wireless. We want to make it easy for consumers almost anywhere in the US to get great value in their wireless service, with the network coverage and experience they deserve, and devices they can be proud to own."

The Aio Nokia Lumia 620 features a 3.8-inch 480 x 800 ClearBlack TFT display with a pixel density of 246 pixels per inch (ppi). It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, Adreno 305 graphics processing unit (GPU), and 512MB of RAM. It includes 8GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that supports up to 64GB microSD cards to increase storage. The Lumia 620 is packing a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, and also has a front facing VGA camera for video chat.

The smartphone runs Windows Phone 8 and can be upgraded out of the box to Nokia's Lumia Amber software update, which also includes Microsoft's GDR2 update (general distribution release) that brings some new features to the handset. In terms of wireless connectivity you'll find an HSDPA radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC. Its 1,300 mAh battery provides up to 14 hours of talk time. Nokia has also added Dolby headphone sound enhancement to make music, videos, games, and more sound clear and crisp. Its dimensions are 115.4 x 61.1 x 11 mm, 76 cc (4.54 x 2.41 x 0.43 in) and weighs 127 g (4.48 oz).
