Soon, you may be able to answer your WhatsApp calls through your Samsung Galaxy Watch.
According to TechViral, the latest WhatsApp beta version shows that Samsung Galaxy Watches might soon start providing support to WhatsApp calls.
WhatsApp Releases New Beta, Enables Users to Answer Calls from Smartwatch
Previously, you cannot answer WhatsApp calls in wear OS smartwatch. It also does not notify you that you have an incoming call.
However, because of the WhatsApp latest beta version, you'll soon be able to answer your WhatsApp call through your smartwatch.
According to Android Central, the latest WhatsApp's beta (version 2.22.19.11) included voice calling support to Wear OS 3 smartwatches.
You can access this feature by default in the latest beta. However, this is only a "one-way capability."
"One-way capability" means you'll be able to answer calls on your smartwatch, but you cannot make a WhatsApp call using your wearable device.
According to Android Central, they had tried to reach out to WhatsApp to get information about this new capability but as of writing, WhatsApp is not yet issuing any official announcement.
For the mean time, it seems that you'll be able to receive and answer incoming calls on some of the Android smartwatches which are running Wear OS 3.
For instance, users of Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 series, as well as the Montblanc Summit 3, will be able to enjoy this new capability.
For an incoming call, you will find the WhatsApp logo under the contact information. This sets the WhatsApp call apart from a regular voice call.
However, there are some visual differences in the interface of the devices. For instance, the WhatsApp logo appears only when the Galaxy Watch model is paired with a Samsung phone, according to Android Central.

Test on Samsung Galaxy Watch Shows New Capability Is Indeed Working
Just recently, Samsung has launched its new smartwatches. It comes in the lineup of Galaxy Watch 5.
Since WhatsApp also released the latest beta version (2.22.19.11), some users of the wearable decided to test if the calling capability indeed works with the latest Galaxy Watch 5. Based on the test, users were able to confirm that it is indeed working.
During the test, the incoming call directly went to their Galaxy Watch 5. This proved that WhatsApp calls are indeed coming to Wear OS because of the WhatsApp's beta (version 2.22.19.11).
But this capability only works for Wear OS-powered Galaxy Watch 5. This only means that this capability will not be enjoyed by users having Verizon-powered Galaxy Watch 5.
As this capability is not limited to the latest smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 4 users will also be able to take advantage of it.
The difference in UI between Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4 is that in Watch 4, you won't see the profile picture of the caller, as per TechViral.
As of writing, there is no announcement yet when this capability will roll out to all users. This will be determined by WhatsApp.
