You can purchase the recently released Verizon Motorola DROID MAXX from Amazon for $249.99 compared to the $299.99 Verizon is currently charging for the same smartphone.
When Motorola and Verizon announced the latest family of DROID smartphones, each model offered something unique to entice buyers into choosing the smartphone. The DROID ULTRA is the thinnest 4G LTE smartphone currently on the market, measuring just 7.18mm in thickness. The DROID MINI brings all the features of its larger counterparts, but packs them into a smaller body with a 4.3-inch display. The DROID MAXX includes the same 5-inch HD display found on the DROID ULTRA, but there's a reason it's called the MAXX. The thin smartphone offers the longest battery life of any 4G LTE smartphone on the market, providing up to 48 hours of typical usage.
Some of its exclusive DROID innovations include:
- Use the exclusive Droid Command Center to stay informed. It keeps you updated with battery life and weather (local and points of interest). Quickly access an alarm clock and other settings.
- Built-in wireless charging. When it's time to recharge, simply rest this smartphone on a compatible charging pad (sold separately).
- Wirelessly connect to your HDTV to share videos or photos from Droid Maxx or to play gaming apps and experience the web (Miracast-enabled TV or separate accessory required.
- Treat your ears to amazing sound that includes extended bass and audio optimization based on what type of music you're playing. Other audio perks include noise reduction during calls and amazing speakerphone quality.
- Use the Android operating system and the latest Google services. Video chat with Google Hangouts, watch videos on YouTube and access thousands of apps, books, music and more.
The DROID MAXX features a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It is powered by Motorola's X8 Mobile Computing System, which uses a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, a quad-core graphics processing unit (GPU), and 2GB of RAM to ensure a snappy user experience.
It has 32GB of internal storage, a 10-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD recording, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. Its wireless connectivity options include a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, and wireless charging capabilities out of the box - no need to purchase an extra back cover to gain this feature (you will need to use a compatible charging pad, however).
The DROID MAXX also comes with the touchless controls found on the Moto X, which allow you to perform different tasks by using your voice even while the smartphone is asleep. It also uses the same wrist gesture that automatically wakes the phone and opens the camera application by simply twisting your wrist while holding the smartphone.
You can purchase the Verizon Motorola DROID MAXX for $249.99 from Amazon when signing a new 2-year contract.
