To deter unfavorable user comments, Amazon will temporarily disable Rotten Tomatoes reviews for all Prime Video programs, including "Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power," for a period of three days.
Amazon Put Rotten Tomatoes' Reviews on Hold
According to an Article from The Verge, Amazon is going to suspend the reviews for all of its Prime Video programs from Rotten Tomatoes for three days. This would cover the reviews for Amazon's most recent "Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" series.
By imposing the suspension, the firm seeks to prevent the wave of unpleasant user comments on its Prime Video shows. As reported by Gizmodo, a spokesperson from Amazon said that to assess a review's credibility, they have established a benchmark and distinguish whether it came from a real person or trolls.
The "Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" was launched on Prime Video on September 1 following several teasers and rumors of its relevance with Peter Jackson's films. It will have a total of eight episodes that will air from now through October.
Following its debut a few days ago, it has been regarded as the most successful film available on Prime Video because it has received more than 25 million worldwide views. As a result, the overall managers of the show, Patrich McKay and JD Payne received kind words from Jennifer Salke, the CEO of Amazon Studios.
Amazon intends to put an end to the review manipulation tactics from trolls through the suspension and the criterion they have set.
It reportedly began enforcing the guidelines this summer to ensure that reviews aren't written with slurs, as happened with "She-Hulk" and "Ms. Marvel." As of press time, the prequel has a 38% user rating, and its detractors have criticized the casting of underrepresented performers.

'Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power' Hit A 25 Million Milestone 24 Hours After It Aired
The newest addition to "The Lord of The Rings" series, "The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power," had hit its quickest but most significant milestone upon garnering an approximated total of 26 million views on its first day, CNBC reports.
The prequel has shattered all previously known records on Prime Video, premiering in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, according to a press release and the official Twitter account for the series from Amazon. (via The Gamer).
The most costly television series ever produced, "Lord of the Rings," is based on chapters of J.R.R. Tolkien's novels. A staggering $465 million is said to have been spent on getting it into screens.
According to a statement released by Jennifer Salke, CEO of Amazon Studios, "It is somehow fitting that Tolkien's stories - among the most popular of all time, and what many consider to be the true origin of the fantasy genre - have led us to this proud moment," Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke said in a statement.
Additionally, stating the significance of the film at its UK launch, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos said that after his firm acquired the license for the narrative, his son warned him not to mess things up.
Since the announcement of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" in January, several people have been curious about what the film has to offer.
