Background noise is now a thing of the past for attendees of parties and chats on the Xbox Series X and Series S.
Xbox Series X/S gamers who can no longer tolerate background noise in parties and chats can now rest easy with the gaming company's new update. In an update released on Tuesday, Microsoft unveiled a new noise suppression feature for Xbox Series X/S users, which can remove noise during party chats so gamers are no longer forced to listen to clicks, heavy breathing, or background music.
The new noise suppression feature on Xbox Series X/S was added "to help remove unwanted noises like gamepad clicks, breathing, and background noise from your parties," Microsoft said in its release notes. But the company assured that users who do want to keep some types of background noise in their parties can do so by turning the noise suppression function off.
The new noise suppression feature on Xbox Series X/S is accessible on the guide, where users can scroll to "Parties & chats" and seelect "Options," which can toggle noise suppression on or off.
What to Expect from Xbox Series X/S' Noise Suppression Feature
Parties and chats on the Xbox Series X/S can now be a little more quieter and less distracting thanks to the noise suppression feature, which according to The Verge is similar to Discord's Krisp audio filters and Nvidia's Broadcast app that enables users to remove background noise. But that's not all the Tuesday update has to offer.
Microsoft has also released an Xbox dashboard update that provides gamers with a new way to participate in their friends' games. Now, users can join a game from their friends' shared captures, which means users can now watch their game highlights and then begin playing the game immediately afterwards, IGN reported.
This week's update also addressed an issue that players have raised concerns over, specifically about the controllers being unable to sync properly from their consoles. The update resolved another issue involving booting games after using a gaming service.
Microsoft Announces No Price Increase for Xbox Series X/S
In late August, Microsoft confirmed that prices on the Xbox Series X/S are not going up amidst PlayStation's recent price hike in specific regions. Microsoft said that it will retain its original baseline prices of $299.99 for the Xbox Series S and $499.99 for the Series X, Comicbook reported. Microsoft added, however, that they are "constantly evaluating" their business to provide customers with "great gaming options."
This week, Gamespot outlined an array of discounts for Xbox Series X/S consoles, accessories, and games. The media outlet reported that gamers can get their hands on an Xbox Series S bundle for just $260 from its original price of $360. This bundle comes with Rocket League, Fortnite, and a free copy of Watch Dogs Legion. The three-month Xbox Game Pass is also on sale for $31 from its original price of $45, and the Xbox Series X + Extra Controller bundle is on sale for $540 from $560, both on eBay.
