The majority of people now depend on their mobile phones for almost everything. This device that simplifies our life is getting better features as technology advances.
When selecting a smartphone, there are numerous factors you must take into account. This includes your spending limit and the phone-related activities you want to engage in. Do you like photography? Are you more of a gamer?
Mobile phones have developed into a fiercely contested market in the electronics industry since the advent of the smartphone revolution.
This may be true, but Huawei is also increasing the level of its foray into the smartphone market.
Enter Huawei Mate 50 series.
Huawei Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro Specs
The Huawei Mate 50 series features premium hardware, a flagship worthy specs.
The vanilla Mate 50 features a 6.7-inch, 90Hz OLED panel, while the 50 Pro variant has a slightly larger 6.74-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, according to The Verge.
Both smartphone models support 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. A 4,700 mAh battery powers the Mate 50 Pro. The Mate 50, on the other hand, has a slightly smaller battery, at 4,460 mAh.
Huawei's claim in terms of battery life is quite astounding. According to GSMArena, even if there is only 1% battery life left, an advanced emergency battery saving mode will let you put the phone on standby for three hours.
Huawei is known for having a fantastic carema.
Both have a 13-megapixel f/2.2 ultrawide camera in addition to a 50-megapixel main rear camera. The standard Mate 50 delivers 100x digital zoom with a 12-megapixel sensor, while the Pro has an upgraded 64-megapixel camera with a 200x digital zoom capability.
But here's the deal, there's no 5G connectivity with Huawei smartphones due to U.S. sanctions, as noted by GSMArena. As a result, the Mate 50 series comes with 4G-only Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC that has 8GB of RAM.
But before you frown, there's a feature in Huawei Mate 50 series that other smartphone brands do not have (as of the time of writing). And that is the ability to send texts via satellite communication.
Huawei Mate 50 Will Connect You to Beidou Satellite
A satellite connection using the so-called Beidou Satellite Message 3 protocol is one of Huawei Mate 50 series' other noteworthy features. In short, it means that even without cellular coverage, you can still send a message, a location or map routes.
Huawei is the first major smartphone manufacturer to introduce such a function.
According to NikkeiAsia, Beijing's efforts to develop its own system independent of GPS and other global navigation systems reached a significant turning point in 2020 when the BeiDou network achieved global coverage.
How Much Is Huawei's Mate 50 Series
The base price for the Mate 50 Pro is CNY6,799 ($980) for the 256GB option.
Meanwhile, the vanilla Mate 50 costs CNY4,999 ($720) for the 128GB option.
