Paramount is celebrating the 56th anniversary of the original "Star Trek" series with events, discussions, and more, all of which can be viewed live online for free.
Trekkies interested in attending the in-person festivities can also head to the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, California, to enjoy exclusive Instagram stories, per Comicbook.
Star Trek Day 2022 Celebration Details
Paramount and the official Star Trek website mentioned that with the arrival of Star Trek day, Trekkies could look forward to even full of "surprise announcements," and back-to-back conversations with the iconic franchise's various cast members. It also has an "unforgettable tribute" to the late "Star Trek" legend Nichelle Nichols.
The event commemorates the debut of the iconic original television series on Sept. 8, 1966, with the airing of its first and pilot episode, "The Man Trap," per Space.com.
The event and its festivities kicked off live and are hosted by Jackie Cox and Mary Chieffo, as they can't miss cast interviews.
You may remember Chieffo as the Klingon L'Rell on "Star Trek: Discovery." Meanwhile, Cox is more popularly known as the Star Trek drag cosplayer that played a role on "RuPaul's Drag Race."
According to the event's schedule, Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd will discuss "Star Trek: picard's" upcoming final season after the event's welcoming remarks. After that, Wilson Cruz will give audiences an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the "Star Trek: Discovery" set, along with some cast run-ins that are certified must-watched.
Once that's done, "Star Trek: Lower Decks" voice actresses Tawny Newsome and Noel Wells will discuss the series and what the show's viewers should expect this season.
"Star Trek: Prodigy" voice cast members Kate Mulgrew and Brett Gray will also discuss their series and revels something special to Trekkies watching the event online or in person.
The event will also be giving tribute and honor the late actress Nichelle Nichols and her impact and influence on the "Star Trek" franchise as Nyota Uhura.
Finally, the cast of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" will talk about the series and tease eventgoers about what's waiting for them in the series' next few episodes.
Aside from these discussions, Trekkies can also look forward to "Star Trek" augmented reality delta portals in select cities, allowing viewers to scan QR codes for exclusive Instagram experiences. These experiences consist of fully 3D alien planets, classic starships, and iconic characters.
These portals will stand ready for Trekkies to try out from Sept. 7 to Sept. 8
Rebecca Romijin, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose, Melissa Navia, and Babs Olusanmokun will also make an appearance in the vent.
