Sony's gaming showcase event is returning soon, and it seems to promise to be chock full of content to excite gamers for what's to come.
The popular tech giant recently announced on its official Twitter account that its State of Play event would come back and be available for live streaming on Sept. 13.
Sony previously had a State of Play event in early March, with Square Enix games such as Valkyrie Elysium, Forspoken, and other games such as Jojo's Bizare Adventure: All-Star Battle R' being revealed during the event.
Sony State of Play Sept. 2022 Live Streaming Details
Sony mentioned in its announcements on the PlayStation Blog and its official Twitter account that its State of Play event would go live ahead of the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, which will be held on Sept. 15 through Sept. 18, per Gematsu.
Gamers who wish to watch the live stream of the event can do so at Sony PlayStation's Twitch and YouTube Channels on Sept. 13 at 3 PM PST / 6 PM ET / 11 PM BST.
It also stated that the event would feature around 20 minutes of reveals, new updates, and "fresh gameplay footage" for ten games coming to the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and the PlayStation VR 2.
Additionally, the event will contain updates from its Japanese partners, along with a handful of other "surprises" from developers worldwide.
According to IGN, gamers can expect to see Sony Santa Monica Studio's God of War: Ragnarok and other PlayStation Studios games during the event, though it may be highly unlikely as the focus of the upcoming event will be on its Japanese partners than its first-party studios.
You may remember that Sony Santa Monica Studios previously announced that God of War Ragnarok is slated for release sometime in November.
However, as a result of Sony wishing to focus on its partners, it is highly possible for Sony to feature games like Final Fantasy 16, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Sonic Frontiers, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and more.
However, Destructoid mentioned in its article that the vent would come and go quickly due to its allotted time limit. According to the publication, the event only has two minutes to showcase their game, meaning that the upcoming State of Play event will probably be a "fast and to-the-point show."
Friendly Company Rivalry
Sony isn't the only one planning to host a big event on Sept. 13. Nintendo has also announced in its various official regional Twitter accounts that it would hold a Nintendo Direct live stream on Sept. 13 as well.
This event, which can be watched live on Nintendo's official YouTube channel, will feature approximately 40 minutes of information regarding various games for the Nintendo Switch launching later this year.
Sony has reacted to Nintendo's announcement with anticipation, with the company stating that tomorrow will be a "big day" for gamers worldwide.
