The Next Nintendo Direct is Happening Today: Here's What You Need to Know

Finally, Nintendo has announced the schedule of its next showcase. Nintendo Direct is happening today, September 13. It will be broadcast at 7AM PT / 10AM ET.

The stream of Nintendo Direct can be watched on Nintendo's YouTube channel. According to The Verge, the showcase is "roughly 40 minutes of information mostly focused on Nintendo Switch games launching this winter."

'Pokémon Scarlet,' 'Pokémon Violet' and More are Expected to be Included in Nintendo's Lineup

The Nintendo Direct showcase is a 40 minutes of announcements, updates, and trailers of the upcoming games. These games are the ones which are expected to arrive to Nintendo Switch this winter.

Bayonetta 3 is included in Nintendo's lineup in October, while Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are coming in November. Meanwhile, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will arrive sometime in 2023.

Another game included in the lineup is Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp. The said game is a remake of two Game Boy Advance strategy games. However, it is "on indefinite hold," according to Polygon.

Remasters of Metroid Prime, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Nintendo Switch are also rumored to be included in the Nintendo lineup.

Viewers can expect a bunch of surprises from Nintendo. Engadget said that Nintendo typically drops a game during a Direct showcase, and "releases it on the Switch eShop on the same day."

Some gamers are looking forward that Vampire Survivors is included in the games that would be announced.

The Tuesday's Nintendo Direct is the second Nintendo Direct of the year. In the recent months, several "more narrowly focused" Nintendo events were held.

One of these narrowly focused events is the Indie World Showcase in May. Other Nintendo Directs include the one focused on Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Splatoon 3 as well as third-party games.

Nintendo Direct Will Not Stream in the UK as a Respect to National Mourning

As per Engadget, the Nintendo Direct on Tuesday will not be streamed in the Nintendo UK YouTube channel "as a mark of respect during this period of national mourning," following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

In a statement released by Nintendo, the company said that "It will be published as a video-on-demand on our YouTube channel at 16:00 (UK time)."

Nintendo Direct is a series of online presentation or live shows produced by Nintendo. It is an event where announcements, updates as well as trailers regarding the company's upcoming content or franchises is presented.

Aside from announcement and updates about games, information about consoles are also presented during the event.

Nintendo Direct began in Japan and North America. The first edition happened on October 21, 2011. Later on, Nintendo expanded to Europe, Australia, and South Korea.

Nintendo Direct is the main type of Nintendo Direct presentation. In this event, the company showcases information about software and hardware across all Nintendo platforms.

Nintendo is a Japanese multinational video game company that develops video games and video game consoles. The company is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan.
