Recent rumors suggest that Samsung will start rolling out the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software update to Galaxy S3 soon after its Unpacked event on Sept. 4.
Samsung's flagship handset for 2012, the Galaxy S3, came pre-loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). The handset received an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update but reports suggest that it will skip Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and will get the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system instead.
The Korean company has not confirmed its plans or tentative dates for when it will roll out the software update. If rumors are to be believed, however, Galaxy S3 owners will start getting Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update sooner than later.
"According to the insider, unlike last time, the device in the picture is his device, currently working on the Jelly Bean 4.3 Update for the Galaxy S3. The current built is near ready for launch. The update will most probably begin rolling out after the Samsung Unpacked Episode 2 Event on Sep 4 to launch the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy GEAR Smartwatch," reports Temefy.
Google announced Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system on July 24 and currently only a handful of devices run the latest Jelly Bean flavor.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 was the first Android device (apart from Nexus devices) to come pre-loaded with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. On Sept. 4, the company will launch the long-awaited Galaxy Note 3, which is rumored to run on the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system. Samsung may also confirm its plans to roll out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to its other devices including not only the Galaxy S3 but also the Galaxy Note 2.
The Temefy report also includes an image of a Galaxy S3 running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The latest software update will bring many enhancements and improvements to the Galaxy S3 and customers will be eagerly waiting to receive the firmware on their handsets.
Even if Samsung confirms the rollout of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to Galaxy S3, we will still have to wait for individual carriers to announce the release date of the firmware update to their versions of the handset.
