What's New With the Google Nest Wifi Pro?

The recent leak of the Google Nest Wifi Pro comes a month after the FCC filing of the next-generation Google Nest Wi-Fi router was reported in the news.

According to the report by The Verge, the all-new Google Nest Wifi Pro offers big upgrades from its predecessor, including Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth Low Energy, and Thread mesh networking radios.

In addition to the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz that you can find in most routers, the new Wi-Fi 6E comes with the additional 6 GHz band.

The 6 GHz band is added for "compatible devices to connect to, reducing signal interference and providing faster speeds."

According to 9to5Google, with the 6 GHz band, the Google Nest Wifi Pro can reach up to 9.6 Gbps top speed.

A report from TechTimes noted, however, that the new 6 GHz band "requires devices that readily support it as well."

The aforementioned 9to5Google report also specified that the Wi-Fi 6E is not expected to have a direct impact on the speed of your home or office network.

The 6 GHz band means there's "less potential for home devices to interfere with one another."

How Much is the Google Nest Wifi Pro?

The latest leak gave us an idea of what to expect from the new generation of Google Nest Wifi Pro. Aside from the new features, the leak also gave an idea of the pricing of the latest update.

The upcoming Google router comes with Wi-Fi 6E support. But along with this new feature, it comes with a heftier price tag.

Since the Google Nest Wifi Pro already appeared in the FCC listing last month, its features no longer surprise us. In addition to it, the leaked listing includes its price details.

According to 9to5Google, Google Nest Wifi Pro is priced at $199 as compared to the 2019 Nest Wifi router, which is priced at $169. The relaunched Google Wifi in 2020 is priced at $99.99. Meanwhile, a two-pack costs $299.99, and 3-pack is $399.99.

According to the leak, the Google Nest Wifi Pro comes in four color options, including white or Snow, brown or Linen, yellow-green or Lemongrass, and light blue or Fog.

As the new Google Nest Wifi sport a "Pro" name, it might suggest that it falls in the "high-end option" over its predecessor.

With the Wi-Fi 6E support, the new Google Nest Wifi Pro offers a faster internet connection than the Google Nest Wifi.

As mentioned previously, aside from the faster internet speed, the upcoming Google Nest Wifi Pro also promises reduced signal interference.

The new Google Nest Wifi Pro is expected to launch at the Made by Google event this coming October 6, together with other products of Google.
