Halo Season 2 Confirms Return of a Seemingly Dead Character in Paramount+ Game-based Series

Fans have not seen the last of a character that seemingly died in the first season's finale.

The Paramount+ game-based series titled "Halo" has begun production of its sophomore season and along with this news comes word that a character that appeared to have died in the previous' season finale is coming back. In fact, "Halo" Season 2 will see the return of Makee, played by Charlie Murphy.

According to Comicbook, Murphy's Makee is making a comeback this season despite being shot by Kai, played by Kate Kennedy, in the first season finale that was streamed on May 19, 2022. But there is more to Makee in the upcoming "Halo" Season 2 and fans are now guaranteed to see her come back and play a role in the second installment of the series based on the Bungie and 343 Industries' franchise of the same name.

What Happened to Makee in 'Halo' Season 1?

In the first seasno of Paramount+'s "Halo," which debuted in March, Murphy's Makee appeared as a human raised by an alien race called The Covenant, ScreenRant reported. Makee later served as a spy within the United Nations Space Command (UNSC), where she hopes to obtain an artifact that Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 (Pablo Schreiber) discovered, which led him on a path of discovery about his past.

Posing as an escaped prisoner of The Covenant, Makee met John-117, who soon saw through her disguise and realized that they both had the ability to activate Forerunner technology, which can be used together to locate the Halo ringworld, the Comicbook report added. However, upon touching the said artifact, both John-117 and Makee went into a trance, forcing Kai to shoot Makee to get her out of it.

What Fans Can Expect in 'Halo' Season 2

Filming for "Halo" Season 2 started last week and will see Schreiber's John-117 and Natascha McElhone's Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Halsey, a UNSC scientist and mastermind of the Spartan-II Project team up once again to fight The Covenant, Collider reported. However, they will have "extra duties" to take care of in the sophomore season, the report added.

Other returning characters in "Halo" Season 2 include Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy, and Danny Sapani. Collider also revealed that two former guest stars will also appear in "Halo" Season 2 as series regulars, namely Fiona O'Shaughnessy and Tylan Bailey.

What remains unclear, however, is whether Makee will return in her human flesh role or will simply appear in flashbacks to propel the story forward. The ScreenRant report revealed that many were shocked to find that Makee and John-117 copulated towards the end of the first season of Paramount+'s "Halo," making her an infamous character in the series.

Bungie and 343 Industries' "Halo" game franchise launched back in November 2001 with "Halo: Combat Evolved," followed by "Halo 2" in 2004, "Halo 3" in 2007, "Halo" 4 in 2012, "Halo 5: Guardians" in 2015, and "Halo Infinite" just last year.
