Google is making it a lot easier for you to request for the removal of Search results that have your address, email, phone number, and other personal data.
Some Android users can now open their Google app to check out the "Results About You" feature. However, there a couple of things you need to take note of before using this feature. Here is what you have to know:
Google Makes It Easier to Remove Searches with Personal Data With Its "Results About You" Feature
First introduced during I/O 2022 in May, this new feature, as previously mentioned, makes it more convenient "to streamline the process of removing Search results that contain your contact and other personal identifiable information (PII)," according to a report by 9to5Google.
So how can you learn more about this feature via the Google app? All you have to do is to first look for your profile avatar. Once you have located your profile avatar, which is located in the top right corner, simply tap it so that it reveals that "Results About You" menu item.
This also where you can monitor any removal requests that you may make in the future. Requests are classified in the app as either in progress or approved.

How to Request for the Removal of a Google Search Result With Your Personal Data
Let's say that while browsing the search results on Google, you stumble on a particular result that has your personal data. What do you do next?
According to a report by Engadget, what you have to do first is find the three-dot menu, which is located at the top right. Tap that and look for the option to remove the search result. "A dialog states that if the result contains one of those three things, 'we can review your request more quickly,'" the report adds.
There is also another way to request for the removal of a search result that has your personal data. Remember that "Results About You" menu item on the Google app? There is also a step there that allow you to make a removal request called the :"Why would you like to remove this result."
You will then be presented with options and you can pick the one that best explains your reason for requesting the removal.
Will All Requests Be Granted?
Unfortunately, the Engadget report points out that Google has previously said that not all removal requests will be granted. Per the report, Google will evaluate every request made so ensure that the tech giant is not "limiting the availability of other information that is broadly useful, for instance in news articles."
Google has also previously noted that removing your personal data from Search results does not mean that the information has been removed from the web.
