Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy Note 3, the much-awaited successor of its best-selling Galaxy Note 2 phablet.
Like all next-gen versions, the 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 3 improves on its predecessor and packs in several new and exciting features.
With the phablet set to release in September, we take a look at the top 5 features you're bound to love:
1. 4K Recording
Acer recently announced that its 6-inch Liquid S2 would have 4K recording capabilities, but the third-gen Samsung phablet can also record video in 4K thanks to the Snapdragon 800 processor. This functionality basically means that users can shoot UHD content in 30fps for playback to a HD screen.
2. Air Command
The Galaxy Note 3 packs in the Air Command feature, a useful tool for the S Pen which enables users to get quick access to five S Pen options. Users simply need to click the S Pen button when hovering over the Note 3's screen to gain access to Air Command.
"With the Air Command feature, there is no need to toggle between screens, memorise commands or look up different menus," notes Samsung.
The five features that Air Command provides access to are Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write, S Finder and Pen Window.
3. Find My Mobile
The Galaxy Note 3 boasts the new Find My Mobile feature, which has "enhanced user authentication" and will allow users to quickly locate a misplaced or stolen handset. The app lets users disable the Galaxy Note 3 and they can even remotely erase data from the stolen handset so that personal information is not misused.
"The Galaxy Note 3 is equipped with an improved Find My Mobile feature that allows users to disable the phone when it is stolen or lost. With the enhanced user authentication, the technology prevents stolen mobile phones from being reset to factory settings, and allows users to remotely track or erase the data from their lost or stolen mobile phones," explains Samsung.
4. Works with gloves on
This handy feature will be welcomed by many Samsung fans as they will now be able to use their Galaxy Note 3 even with gloves on! The smartphone's new display has auto adjust touch sensitivity which makes the screen glove-friendly for easy use even on cold days.
5. IR Blaster
Like its sibling the Galaxy S4, the Galaxy Note 3 also features an IR blaster that works in tandem with Samsung WatchON. This feature enables users to control a HDTV, home theater and cable box, turning the Note 3 into a remote control.
