AirPods Pro 2 Has Connectivity Issue, Says Users

If you're experiencing sporadic connectivity with your new AirPods Pro 2, you're not the only one.

AirPods Pro 2 users have been reporting that their earbuds are not working due to them randomly disconnecting from their iOS devices while they listen to music or watch videos, per MacRumors.

There is allegedly no known fix for these issues as the earbuds were recently released, though there are solutions for the problem when experienced in previous AirPods.

AirPods Pro 2 Connectivity Issues Details

AirPods Pro 2 users have reportedly gone to online forums to voice their concerns and complaints. According to MacRumors' forum and MacRumors readers that contacted the publication directly, their AirPods Pro 2 were not actually connected to their iPhone or iPad despite their devices showing that they are.

As a result, the AirPods didn't produce any audio even when the mobile device they are coupled to says they are paired and connected.

This problem's existence is evidenced by a few MacRumors forum members

"Mine keeps disconnecting from my iPhone randomly throughout the day," a MacRumors forum member said. "Also[,] sometimes it shows that they're connected but [the] sound doesn't come through[,] so I'll have to reconnect them. Hope this is just a software issue."

A different MacRumors forum member also mentioned they are experiencing the same problems, with their AirPods Pro 2 not showing in their iOS device's drop-down shade.

Another problem AirPods Pro 2 users found is that the earbuds sometimes disconnect from their devices out of nowhere while they listen to music or watch videos.

Most people on the MacRumors forums report that they use iPhone 11s, iPhone 12s, and iPhone 14s with their AirPods Pro 2, though they didn't share what version their earbuds are.

What Is Causing The Issues?

Unfortunately, with the AirPods Pro 2 being just released on Sept. 23, according to Tom's Guide, there is no clear reason why the earbuds are experiencing these problems.

Apple has yet to address the issues with its new AirPods, either, though it is unknown if the company is aware of the problems at all.

Regardless, MacRumors mentioned that the issues could be caused by bugs somewhere in the pairing process.

The publication mentioned that this kind of problem could also be experienced in older AirPods, though it isn't clear if the fixes for this issue on older AirPods could work on the problems found on Apple's AirPods Pro 2.

How To Fix The Problems

To fix the problem until Apple addresses it on a future update, AirPods Pro 2 users may want to try some tricks to get their music or binging fix while on the go.

According to HeadpHonesty, they could try restarting their iOS device's Bluetooth or redo the pairing process between their device and the AirPods all over again.

Alternatively, users could update their AirPods and iOS devices to the latest firmware and see if outdated firmware is causing the problem.
