Soon, it will be easier with you to stay connected with your friends and loved ones as WhatsApp rolls out a new feature that would let you share a direct link to a call.
The new feature dubbed as "Call Links" is a new simplified call-sharing feature that will make it easier to begin or join a group call.
According to The Verge, it will start to be available this week. You will need the latest version of the app in order to be able to try it.
WhatsApp Will Start Testing Group Video Calls for Up to 32 Participants
The Call Links feature of WhatsApp allows users to start a new call or join an ongoing call, according to 9to5Google. You will soon find a Call Links option added within the Calls tab.
Using the Call Links option, users will be able to create a link for an audio or video call. This link could be easily shared on other platforms.
The new feature was announced by Mark Zuckerberg on Facebook. According to him, with just a single tap, WhatsApp users will be able to share a link of a call.
"We're rolling out call links on WhatsApp starting this week so you can share a link to start a call with a single tap. We're also testing secure encrypted video calling for up to 32 people. More coming soon," reads a post by Zuckerberg.
Furthermore, according to WhatsApp, the messaging platform will soon start testing group video calls for up to 32 participants. Currently, WhatsApp caps video calls at eight users.
Back in April, WhatsApp already announced that they will soon add the ability to share a call link with up to 32 users to the messaging platform. The announcement was made together with another upcoming feature, WhatsApp Communities.

Call Links will Have the Same Functionality of Google Meet, Zoom
According to 9to5Google, the functionality of Call Links may be similar to many video calling apps like Google Meet, Zoom, and more where users are allowed to create conference calls' link for the participants.
In the Calls tab, you will find a "Create a call link." 9to5Google noted that this is not yet available in the Android version of WhatsApp. However, the said feature is expected to be available in the coming days.
The Call Links feature will support both audio and video calls, meaning you'll be able to generate links both for audio and video calls.
Meanwhile, as WhatsApp test for a video call supporting 32 participants, the messaging platform becomes at par with the likes of Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom.
While these competitors offer a far greater caller capacity, there are restrictions when it comes to the duration of calls for free account.
There is no statement from WhatsApp if there will be any restrictions on call duration. If WhatsApp will not restrict call duration, it could be one of the best free video-calling applications for small group.
Among other features, the instant messaging platform is considering to bring a new feature which is an ability to create a sticker pack of your face.
