The Amazon's hardware event was held on Wednesday. During the event, the retail giant announced some news regarding the Echo Show 15.
According to CNET, Amazon will be adding the Fire TV streaming system to the Echo Show 15. This makes the smart display a little more useful according to PC Mag.
Amazon's decision to add Fire TV to Echo Show 15 widens the company's entertainment offerings. This gives users access to personal library, numerous streaming apps, and thousands of videos.
Fire TV's Integration with Echo Show 15 Will Happen Later This Year
Amazon is bringing the Fire TV experience in Echo Show 15. It will come as a free update for the new and existing owners of the device, according to Engadget.
"When we launched Echo Show 15, our vision was to deliver a device that could also double as a kitchen TV-only much smarter. A majority of households already use Echo Show 15 to watch videos, and soon, we will offer Fire TV on Echo Show 15," said Amazon.
According to Amazon, Fire TV app will be integrated in the Echo Show 15's interface later this year. This should let users stream TV shows, movies, live news and other content.
Netflix, Prime Video and Hulu are currently available for users to watch in the smart display. These streaming platforms are already preinstalled on the Echo Show 15.
The integration of Fire TV in the Echo Show display would mean there would be additional selection of video titles in the smart display coming from Paramount Plus, Showtime, Disney Plus and other platforms.
According to CNET, the Fire TV update can be enjoyed by new and existing Echo Show 15 owners. The said upgrade will be added as an opt-in feature.

Amazon Prioritizes to bring Fire TV to Echo Show 15
According to TechCrunch, customers are already utilizing the Echo Show 15 in the central locations of their homes. This is the reason why Amazon decided to prioritized bringing Fire TV to Echo Show 15.
Moreover, in the last months, over 70% of device owners had used the said smart display to watch videos.
However, the company did not make any statement if the Fire TV will be made available to other Echo Show devices in the upcoming update.
Users will be able to view shortcuts to recently streamed apps using the new Fire TV widget. In addition, it will allow users to view recently watched content, and their personal watchlist.
With a 15.6-inch touchscreen, 5-megapixel front-facing camera and microphone, the Echo Show 15 is the largest smart display of Amazon.
In addition with camera and microphone, it is also equipped with Bluetooth connectivity capability. Moreover, it comes with an ambient light sensor and customizable widgets.
With its wide range of smart home capabilities, the Echo Show 15 is a very useful smart home device. Aside from being able to utilize it in shopping, answering doorbells or turning off the lights, users can also use it for entertainment.
According to Amazon, you have the option to use your voice, or the touch the screen, or even pair the device with the Fire TV Alexa Voice Remote in order to browse Fire TV.
