Emergency situations can happen anytime, particularly when we are least expecting it. Disasters and calamities can put us in situations that could possibly render us helpless. Therefore, it's better to be prepared when emergency situations knock on our doors.

Speaking of emergency, you better check your emergency kit to make sure that your supplies are complete. In case there are still some supllies missing, its better to stock up as early as now so that when an emergency situation suddenly happens, you are prepared.

It would be wise to upgrade your emergency gadgets and tech now, as these items would be truly helpful during emergency situations. Here are the five gadgets that you should have in cases of emergency.

1. Rechargeable Batteries

Nowadays, you'll find that most devices are loaded with internal rechargeable batteries. However, during times of emergency, you might find rechargeable AAs useful. You can use it for emergency flashlights or even in hand-held radio that uses batteries. It is always better to get rechargeable AAs than the alternative because it is environmental friendly. It is also cheaper to get rechargeable batteries as you won't have to buy batteries repeatedly.

2. Rechargeable and Water-resistant Flashlight

Flashlights are incredibly useful when the power goes out. A water-resistant one is even more useful particularly when flooding and hurricane hit us at night. Choose a flashlight that has enough lumens to stay bright, according to Rolling Stone. Choose also something that is rechargeable so that you don't have to spend on batteries. Something that can last for several hours could be helpful in emergency situations. Just make sure to always keep your flashlight charged so that you are ready in times of emergency.

3. Portable Generator

Loss of power can be devastating in times of emergency. A generator is a solution to bring back power, as per Time. But in times of emergency, you may not need a big, powerful one. A portable generator may be enough to keep your flashlights, phones, tablets, and laptops charged until power returns. If you can find a portable generator that can power the lights as well, it would be very useful. It pays to invest in a generator in order to be prepared for emergency situations.

4. Emergency Weather Alert Radio

Most of us get our news from the internet. But during times of emergency when the WiFi is down and we don't have internet connection, we need a device to keep us updated on the current situation. In this case, an emergency weather alert radio would be very useful. Choose a radio that has an integrated solar panel attached to it so that it would still work even if there is no power. With an emergency weather alert radio, you'll stay updated even if the internet is down.

5. Battery-Powered Lamp

When power is down, you'll need something to light up your homes. A battery-powered lamp comes handy in situation like this. Choose a lamp that have enough lumens to illuminate a room. If you can find a water-resistant lamp, better get that one as it would be more useful particularly when there is a storm and you have to go outside.
