HTC is on track to release the much-awaited Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for its flagship HTC One this month and by the look of things the U.S. variant will be the first to benefit from the software update.
The latest information is courtesy of well-known tipster LlabTooFeR who has taken to Twitter to confirm the same. According to the tipster, the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the HTC One will roll out in two phases or "waves" with the first one set to hit the U.S. variants of the HTC One first. The U.S. version of the HTC One will also get Sense 5.0.
"About 4.3 update for HTC One. It will have 2 waves, first wave https://3.1x.xxx .x builds will be released in US with Sense 5.0 on board," disclosed LlabTooFer via Twitter.
The international version of the HTC One is set to follow suit a little later; however, it may bring HTC Sense 5.5 per the leakster.
"Second wave is for international HTC One with 4.3 and Sense 5.5 (not confirmed yet). So anyway first update 4.3 + 5.0 and second 4.3 + 5.5," notes LlabTooFer.
While HTC is yet to confirm the Sense 5.5 version, the Taiwanese company is on schedule to release the Android 4.3 OS update as planned. Recently, HTC America's President Jason Mackenzie responded to questions pertaining to the update's roll out on Twitter and confirmed that there was "no change" to the schedule, reaffirming that the HTC One would receive Android 4.3 by September end.
HTC's top-end flagship smartphone launched in March this year and came pre-loaded with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Questions as to why the HTC One did not come with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the latest version at the time, out of the box raised quite a few eyebrows. However, HTC pushed out Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for the handset in some regions as others awaited the software update.
Rumors were rife that the HTC One would get the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version soon and would arrive on the U.S. variant first with the international models to follow. In August, HTC confirmed that since Android 4.2 was not a major update, the HTC One would bypass that step and jump to directly Android 4.3 instead (in regions where the device was yet to get updated).
Now with the update set to roll out this month and the U.S being a part if the first wave, HTC One owners in the region will finally get to taste Android 4.3.
