A dream of a more immersive virtual world is something many people share. With the boom of roleplaying games, people are given the opportunity to virtually interact with other people on a global scale. Although, according to The Verge, even their employees haven't been using it much.
Meta, more known as Facebook, has been working on a metaverse app called Horizon Worlds. It is an integrated game creation and a massively multiplayer online game. Like all video games, they have been encountering bugs that need fixing before the game can be played flawlessly.
Into the Metaverse
CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been working on ways to rebrand Facebook into Meta, and one of his key initiatives is the creation of Horizon World. Just as Facebook connects people virtually, he also aims to create a virtual reality where people can build worlds and interact with others.
The game was published for Oculus Rift S and Oculus Quest 2 and has been released in Canada and the U.S. for people who are 18 years old and above. Since December 2021, anyone can play it without needing an invitation, as opposed to its invite-only beta phase.
The tech billionaire is determined to make the interactive multiplayer game bear fruit, despite the Reality Labs division, where the game is being developed, making its parent company Meta lose $2.8 billion.

Why Aren't Meta Employees Using It?
Reports claim that the virtual reality social network game has been suffering from quality issues. Vishal Shah, the VP of Metaverse, said that the team would be in a quality lockdown. This will resume until the end of the year so that they may fix quality gaps and performance issues.
Shah also mentioned that feedback from creators, users, playtesters, and others on the team said that it was hard to experience the magic of the game due to papercuts, stability issues, and bugs. They will have to make the game usable and well-crafted first before it becomes "delightful and retentive."
The VP of Metaverse even went as far as saying that if they didn't love the game, how would they expect other users to love it? It also didn't help the situation when Vivek Sharma, VP of Meta's Horizon social media VR platform, left the company in August, according to bizzbuzz.news.
People can still expect great things from Horizon Worlds as the teams are still working on it. They mentioned that they would collaborate better together so users can expect more changes to come.
Familiarity with Virtual Reality
The concept of virtual reality is not new to people. There are already well-developed games that revolve around that premise, as well as movies that dive into the possibilities of a virtual world.
We have already seen what building your surroundings look like because of Minecraft, where we can put stack upon stack of boxes until we have achieved the ideas we have in mind.
Roblox also offers a 3D world where you can design your own environment, and not only that; you can interact with people from all over the world by entering various game creations like Bloxburg or Adopt Me.
