For today's #TheSteamSix feature, we list down six things you need to know before diving head first into the horrors of DEVOUR with you friends.
1. DEVOUR Basic Facts
Released on January 28, 2021, DEVOUR is developed and published by Straight Back Games. As previously mentioned, it is a survival horror game.
As a co-op game, groups of two to four players can play at the same time. However, you also have the option of playing the game all by yourself if you think you have what it takes. Should you opt to play co-op, the game does offer its own positional voice chat.
2. What You Should Know About Anna
The threat to your survival in the game comes in the form of a possessed cult leader named Anna, who is trying to hunt you down to take to hell with her. What you have to do is to exorcise her to free her from the demon possessing her.
In order to do that, the DEVOUR website says you will need to find gasoline, a fire pit, and goats to sacrifice in a ritual. This, however, is easier said than done because Anna moves faster and more angrily as the game progresses.
3. No Two Playthroughs are the Same
The game's Steam page notes that "Locked doors, ritual objects and item spawns are randomized, ensuring that no two games are the same." What the means is that you will never ever know what to expect.
It should be noted that a single session of DEVOUR may last up to an hour.
