Truth Social goes live on Google Play Store as the Donald Trump-backed application clears content moderation concerns.
After months of back and forth, Google finally approves of Trump's Truth Social roll out in its Play Store, Engadget reports.
Truth Social Raises Content Concerns
Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the company behind Truth Social, has been approved for distribution and will be available on Google Play Store soon.
The app, designed as Twitter's right-wing conservative counterpart, had problems involving massive glitches, financing, and regulatory investigations.
The Verge reports that Truth Social markets itself as a platform that encourages open conversations that are free and honest during the first launch in February.
However, Google expressed that their biggest concern was that Truth Social allowed violent threats and content that incites racism.
"Apps may be distributed on Google Play provided they comply with our developer guidelines, including the requirement to effectively moderate user-generated content," Google said.
Engadget says that Google requires that applications that want a place in their store need to have policies that prevent abusive behavior and mechanisms that enforce them.

Truth Social Is Bound To Meet A Bigger Audience
According to CNBC, Truth Social has complied and agreed to enforce the content moderation policies and it is now available to 44% of phone users in the United States.
Axios writes the distribution of Truth Social may have a huge implication at the US midterm elections as nearly half of its population relies on Google's system and applications.
Devin Nunes, CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group, said that the development is "a significant milestone in our mission to restore free speech online," Bloomberg says.
However, while waiting on Google's final decision, Truth Social found a way around to make the app available for wide distribution.
In the past few weeks alone, TMTG made a knock-off of the application available for Android users to download straight from their website, according to Axios.
Despite this, Al Jazeera claims that Google Play Store remains the primary and easiest way for Android phones in the US to download their apps.
Nevertheless, Truth Social continues to appeal to a base of people who share the same views as Donald Trump, who restored his social media presence on the platform after his Twitter ban,
CNBC writes that Trump was inspired to create Truth Social after the controversy, following the event of his supporters storming the US Capitol after the previous national elections.
Furthermore, Digital World Acquisition Corp. warned that the company's reputation might be tarnished by its association to Trump, who is facing a federal criminal probe.
The Verge claims that Trump Media is also facing investigations at the moment under the Securities and Exchange Commission for alleged securities violation of a former executive.
Truth Social is not the only app that was flagged by Google for its content moderation policies, as it took Parler out of its stores for the same conditions last January.
