Konami is Set to Give Latest Updates on Silent Hill

While Konami did not provide further details on what will be showcased during the Silent Hill Transmission event, fans can at least anticipate that they will show "the latest updates for the Silent Hill series."

For many years now, rumors about the future of the franchise have been circulating. Finally, it appears like the game publisher has something new to offer to the fans who have been waiting all these years.

In 1999, the Silent Hill series debuted on the original PlayStation. While it became widely popular, a new series entry wasn't seen since 2012.

Konami announced Silent Hills in 2014. It is a project in collaboration with Kojima Productions, Guillermo del Toro and Norman Reedus.

Fans anticipated the released of the game. Moreover, its playable teaser (P.T.) drew massive attention from the fans and gamers.

However, following a reported falling out between Kojima and Konami, the game was canceled. Because of this, fans were not able to download the P.T. as well.

Since then, no new Silent Hill game was produced. This is despite the massive popularity of Konami's survival horror franchise.

Silent Hill Transmission is Set to Happen on October 19

The tweet by Silent Hill's official Twitter account was retweeted by the original author of the game, Masahiro Ito.

For the first three installments of the Silent Hill, Ito served as the game's art director. Likewise, he also designed many of the creatures featured in the game.

According to Tech Times, speculations of the game's return started circulating way back in 2020. The rumors started when Ito, the original artist of Silent Hill, tweeted that he is working on a new project.

"I'm working on a title as a core member. I hope the title won't be cancelled," Ito tweeted, adding further: "About that, I can tell you nothing yet."

Ever since Ito posted the tweet, fans have been anticipating that the survival horror game would eventually return.

According to Video Games Chronicle, just recently, an unannounced Silent Hill game, "Silent Hill: The Short Message" was rated by South Korea's Game Rating committee.

UNIANA, a company which regularly publishes Konami games in the said country, was listed as game's publisher.

Moreover, movie director Christophe Gans has announced that Team Silent is working on multiple Silent Hillprojects.

But the biggest confirmation came from Konami itself, when the renowned gaming firm confirmed via tweet that Silent Hill is indeed making its highly-anticipated return.

This week, on October 19, Konami will have the Silent Hill Transmission which should reveal the latest updates on the survival horror game.
