Konami's next Silent Hill game is becoming more of a blockbuster than originally thought.
Masahiro Ito, the artist behind the creation of Silent Hill 2's Pyramid Head, has reportedly dropped a hint that he could be involved in the upcoming Silent Hill game and future entries, according to PCGamesN.
Konami previously revealed on its official Twitter page that new updates regarding the Silent Hill franchise would be revealed in an event on Oct. 19 at 2 PM PDT.
Masahiro Ito's Potential Silent Hill Return Details
Masahiro was recently found to have tweeted a timer on his official Twitter account without providing any context or anything else for that matter.
The timer Masahiro tweeted doesn't make sense at first, but when Konami's upcoming Silent Hill event is added into the mix, then it suddenly makes perfect sense.
According to Games Radar, the timer coincides with the remaining time left before Konami's Silent Hill event begins in earnest. As such, Masahiro's tweets could mean that he is either involved in the upcoming Silent Hill game or merely excited for the event to occur.
Either of the two options is possible as of the writing of this article. Masahiro was involved in the development of the series' original trilogy as a monster designer. As such, he was the one who created Pyramid Head, the Nurses, and Lying Figures present in the trilogy.
For those unaware, Silent Hill 2 is the most successful game in the entire Silent Hill franchise, per Game Rant and a Screen Rant article citing Metacritic's findings.
As such, the excitement of Masahiro alone is enough of a vote of confidence for anything Konami is planning on doing with the franchise in the eyes of many fans of the franchise.
What To Expect In The Upcoming Silent Hill Event
Konami added a line from Silent Hill 2 in its announcement regarding its upcoming Silent Hill event, which is "In your restless dreams, do you see that town?"
That, and Masahiro's possible involvement could mean that the information that would be revealed during the event will pertain to a Silent Hill game connected to Silent Hill 2 or even a remake of it.
The latter option seems to be the more possible option of the two due to recent leaks showing what appears to be James exploring a building which could be Brookhaven Hospital, while a bubble-head nurse rounds a corner.
If it isn't a remake, the upcoming game could be directly linked to Silent Hill 2 as a sequel, just like Silent Hill 3 was to the first game. AestheticGamer1 mentioned in their tweet that the Silent Hill game Konami is allegedly developing involves two girls named Anita and Maya. These women could be the next Silent Hill game's main protagonists or someone with great relevance in the next game's story.
Aside from details regarding the upcoming Silent Hill game, Konami could also reveal more details about the other Silent Hill games it is allegedly developing behind the scenes.
