Actor Oscar Isaac is still optimistic that the long-awaited "Metal Gear Solid" movie will happen, although it is taking years to get finalized.

Isaac Is Positive That 'Metal Gear Solid' Will Kick Off Its Gears Soon
With live-action movies becoming more and more popular today, Hollywood is finally figuring out how to take interactive stories and turn them into linear narratives.
Following the successes of the "Sonic the Hedgehog" films and "Uncharted," Sony is getting the "Metal Gear Solid" movie closer and closer to actuality.
Because of this, lead actor Isaac notes that fans should be excited about the film adaptation of the famous video game as it has a lot of potential to be great.
Comic Book writes that Isaac is eager to make this movie happen because of the material that the script and the story can create from the much-loved Metal Gear Solid game.
Isaac also recalls how the game has been his favorite because it gives him the feeling of strange loneliness, mourning, and isolation in a psychedelic military horror experience.
With this, the actor keeps his enthusiasm for "Metal Gear Solid" and its potential to be a unique anti-war story, NME says.
Featuring stealth, espionage, and action along with cyberpunk, dystopia, and various political and philosophical themes, "Metal Gear Solid" the movie might just have the right mix to make it epic.
The Metal Gear franchise was released by Hideo Kojima in the 1990s, and still remains as one of the most recognizable and celebrated video games in the modern era, Video Game Chronicle writes.

'Metal Gear Solid' Will See Isaac Play Solid Snake
The movie adaptation of Metal Gear has been in the works since 2006 with Jordan Vogt-Roberts as its director, but production has not sorted a schedule or a release window yet.
However, despite having no clear direction on production yet, casting immediately offered Isaac the lead role of Solid Snake for his passion for the franchise, Kotaku reports.
In 2014, the director revealed that there are two versions of the script completed, and Vogt-Roberts was determined to realize the movie as a risky R-rated film.
"It's about doing it for a price so you can make the riskier, balls-to-the-wall, Kojima-san version of it," Vogt-Roberts says, adding that it is great to make a movie where it does not matter if it was a game.
However, Cinema Blend believes that in order for "Metal Gear Solid" to achieve the same success as other video game film adaptations, it should embrace the cinematic storytelling of the game.
Nevertheless, the talks about the movie adaptation of Metal Gear could not have come at a more opportune time as video game movie adaptations are making impacts on the big screen.
Kotaku believes that with this, the people involved in the creation of "Metal Gear Solid" placed themselves in the perfect position to keep the ball rolling.
There is still no confirmation for the "Metal Gear Solid" movie's release date, but for the meantime, video game film fans can keep their eyes peeled for The Last Of Us and Super Mario Bros adaptations.
