A new Pokemon is supposed to make its big debut today during the Shuppet Spotlight Hour, according to CNET.
However, it seems that players will have to wait for some time as a bug made Niantic temporarily pull the new addition from the game.
Shuppet's Spotlight Hour Will Proceed as Planned
The official game site of Pokemon GO has hinted that there is a big surprise coming today, saying, "Bring your Buddy Pokémon to witness something special at the beginning and end of this Spotlight Hour!"
According to Nintendo Life, the Shuppet Spotlight Hour will go ahead as planned but without the "special something" anymore.
"The Zorua surprise that occurred in time zones including and prior to GMT+13 will not occur in time zones after while we fix this. Shuppet Spotlight Hour will still occur," Niantic explained in a tweet.
Zorua and its evolved form Zoroark is supposed to debut today at the game's event, but Niantic has to pull it out from Pokemon GO because of a bug.
However, Shuppet Spotlight Hours have already taken place in other regions such as Australia and New Zealand because of a time difference.
Because of this, there have been reports that some trainers have already caught Zorua. However, the Pokemon that they've caught is retaining the stats, weight, height, and the moveset of the one it was copying when it first appeared on the map.
In another tweet, Niantic addressed the trainers, saying they know that there is a bug where Zorua keeps the stats of the Pokemon it originally took the form of.
As a result of the bug, Zorua will no longer debut today in the Shuppet Spotlight Hours event.

Niantic Temporarily Removes Zorua Encounter in Pokemon GO
While the team from Niantic fix the bug, the Zorua encounter has been temporarily removed from the game. This was explained by the Pokemon GO developer.
Meanwhile, the trainers who luckily managed to catch a Zorua during the Shuppet Spotlight Hours in some regions will discover that they will not be able to enjoy the full game privileges of the new Pokemon addition.
According to Niantic, trainers will not be able to send the dark-type Pokémon in the Battle League. Similarly, trainers cannot send Zorua to Pokémon HOME, or even trade it with other trainers.
According to Nintendo Life, it remains unclear when Zorua will be added back into the game as there is no timeframe for the fix.
In an earlier report, GameSpot detailed how to catch a Zorua. According to the site, you need to have your Pokemon buddy with you during the Shuppet Spotlight Hour.
Multiple copies of your Pokemon buddy will appear on the map for the first five minutes of the event. You should be able to encounter Zorua when you tap on these Pokemon.
Zorua is a dark-type Pokemon that evolves to Zoroark beginning at level 30. It is a slate gray Pokemon with a fox-like appearance. You will find Zorua with red and black accents. This Pokemon has a timid nature.
