Paul Bettany will reportedly reprise his role as Vision in a new "WandaVision" spinoff with a tentative title, "Vision Quest," according to Deadline.
Wanda Maximoff Might Appear in 'Vision Quest'
Marvel is reportedly developing a new "WandaVision" spinoff for Disney+. This time, it would center on the android superhero and MCU Avenger, Vision.
This will be the second "WandaVision" spinoff after the greenlighted series "Agatha: House of Harkness" starring by Kathryn Hahn.
The new spinoff is said to pick up where the series ended. Vision was reconstructed from the old one killed at the end of "Avengers: Infinity War."
In the final episode of Disney+' "WandaVision," a new White Vision was shown. He was rebuilt by government agents.
The Vision who lacks personality decided to venture for some self-discovery. Reportedly, "Vision Quest" will be about the superhero trying to regain his memories and sense of humanity.
There are speculations that although spinoff will highlight the story Vision, Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) will also appear in it.
The appearance of Wanda in Disney+ upcoming show will make sense given the kind of relationship she and Vision shared.
In "WandaVision," after the android's tragic death, she even recreated him as a specter in her magical reality.
However, according to CNET, it is unclear how Wanda would appear in "Vision Quest" given that she possibly died in "Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness" after she collapsed an ancient temple on herself.
Just like previous Marvel's shows, the studio did not give further details about the upcoming show. Aside from Paul Bettany, no other cast members were revealed.
"WandaVision" creator, writer and executive producer Jac Schaeffer will oversee the productions of "Vision Quest." Meanwhile, Bettany and representatives for Marvel Studios refused to comment on the matter.
'WandaVision' Spinoff is Tentatively Titled 'Vision Quest'
According to CNET, one curious thing about the tentative title is its reference to a tradition of Native American tribes. A vision quest refers to a rite of passage in some Native American tribes, according to Wikipedia.
A vision quest is undertaken by male youths entering adulthood. If this the case, this is a fitting reference to empty Vision's "journey toward self-realization."
Towards the end of episode 8 of "WandaVision," S.W.O.R.D. rebuilt and reactivated White Vision. He is then sent on a mission to destroy Wanda and her "Conditional" Vision.
In the ninth episode of the series, "Conditional" Vision and White Vision had an epic showdown.
The memories of White Vision was scanned by "Conditional" Vision. It covered all of his moments in the MCU up to the point when Thanos destroyed him.
In what seemed to be a moment of clarity, White Vision said, "I Am Vision," and disappeared into the skies.
Bettany has been reluctant to give information about reprising his role after his works with "WandaVision."
"It was a beautiful culmination for all these things Lizzie and I have done together," Bettany said, as cited by Deadline.
"We really found a lane for ourselves, and this was different in tone from those movies. But you never know with Marvel, whether you're done, or not. So I don't want to call it the end yet," he further added.
