After the finalization of Elon Musk's $44 billion deal with Twitter, the billionaire fired former CEO Parag Agrawal and other top company officials. The question now is who is the new CEO of the social media platform?
Musk tweeted on Sunday, "My title is Chief Twit right there in the bio. No idea who the CEO is," causing further speculation on who is the current chief of the social media.
Now, the Securities and Exchange Commision (SEC) filling answered all questions surrounding the matter: Elon Musk is the new CEO of Twitter.
Twitter is Now One of the Companies Elon Musk Runs
Twitter will now be added to the companies that Musk runs, which include SpaceX, brain-chip startup Neuralink, automaker Tesla, and tunneling firm the Boring Company, as per Reuters.
The public confirmation from SEC is included in the 13th amendment to a document that Musk first filed on April 4 when he announced his bid to takeover Twitter, according to The Verge.
The SEC filing also stated that Twitter's new CEO has also offered to buy back all of social media's outstanding bonds.
Musk was able to complete his $44 billion bid to buy the company through a combination of his own wealth, investment funds, and bank loans.
One of those who invested on the social media's purchase is Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal. A separate SEC filing showed that he had become Twitter's second-largest shareholder.
In a tweet, Chris Murphy, a Democratic senator for Connecticut, announced that he would ask the Committee on Foreign Investment to review the possible implication of Saudi Arabia's investment on the platform to national security.
Additional SEC filings also shows that Twitter co-founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey remains a part owner of the company.
There are other private investors on the list but majority of the shares are owned by Saudi Arabia's Kingdom Holding Company, and Prince Alwaleed bin Talal.

Elon Musk Dissolves Twitter's Board of Directors
Twitter refused to comment on how long Musk will serve as CEO of the company or if he's going to appoint someone else to hold the post.
Previously, the billionaire had changed his bio to "Chief Twit" in an allusion to his planned move to take the reins of the social media platform.
According to Reuters, another SEC filing stated that Musk became the sole director of the company as a result of the takeover.
As part of the takeover, the new CEO of the company is quick to fire top officials and directors of the social media platform.
Musk said in the filing: "The following persons, who were directors of Twitter prior to the effective time of the merger, are no longer directors of Twitter: Bret Taylor, Parag Agrawal, Omid Kordestani, David Rosenblatt, Martha Lane Fox, Patrick Pichette, Egon Durban, Fei-Fei Li and Mimi Alemayehou."
Shortly after dissolving the board, Musk tweeted that this move "is just temporary." However, he did not elaborate his next plan for Twitter.
Musk's Twitter takeover last week concluded the months-long saga that started in April.
