Following the recent departures of some of its executives, Apple is once again seeing members of the management team leave the company.
The tech giant is reportedly losing two women that held important roles in the company as VP of Online Retail and Chief Information Officer, The Verge writes.
Apple Should Expect More Changes To Its Executive Team With The New Vacancies
Top executives from Apple Inc. are stepping down, bringing definite changes to key parts of the company's operations in the online retail and information systems divisions, Bloomberg reports.
VP Anna Matthiason is leaving the company after securing her position on Apple's executive team for three years, while CIO Mary Demby is retiring after three years of service.
The departures of the two will leave the space for the highest-level position that reports to Apple's Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook Vacant, according to Tech Times.
While it is still unclear why Matthiasson has decided to leave the company, she had a remarkable run with Apple before being an Operations Executive.
Karen Rasmussen, who worked as a senior director of digital experience and e-commerce at the California-based company, will take Matthiasson's place in her departure.
Matthiasson is known for her work as a significant figure that helped the Apple Online Store succeed during the pandemic.
On the other hand, Bloomberg says that Apple is yet to give any information about who may possibly replace Demby.
However, speculations are made that David Smoley will step into the position since he was the VP of her 2019 team and was a CIO for the pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca, Tech Times reports.
Matthiasson And Demby Follows A String Of Executives Who Left The Company Recently
The departure of the two women from Apple's executive team is not the first of its kind, as Evans Hankey, who has been in charge of industrial design, says she was leaving earlier.
Hankey will remain in her post for the next six months during the transition period while the company finds someone to fill her post.
She was another fundamental person in Apple's development of many of its products as she worked closely with Jony Ive, who left in 2019.
Apple's Chief Privacy Officer Jane Horvath also left a few weeks ago to work for a law firm in Los Angeles named Gibson, Dunn, and Crutcher LLP.
Horvarth has been with the multi-billion-dollar company as it faced a lawsuit against Epic Games in 2020 for anti-competitive actions.
Meanwhile, Tony Blevins, who was the company's Vice President for Procurement, was fired from his position after a video of him making sexist remarks went viral on TikTok.
The Verge writes that it will also be important to note that except for Blevins, all of the executives who left the company are women.
CEO Tim Cook's management has been criticized in the past for prioritizing executive decisions rather than considering the opinion of the entire team.
According to WCCF Tech, this strategy delays the accomplishment of several important tasks and prevents executives from making progress in their respective areas of work.
