Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer reveals that executives from the company have been fielding proposals for a big AAA video game based on the "John Wick" series
The film studio is considering the idea following the success of the action series, but Feltheimer is hesitant to spill more details about the project.
Lionsgate Says That They Are Certainly Interested In The Video Game Adaptation
Lionsgate is keen on getting the series introduced to more people, as Feltheimer says that the studio is calling up investors who can make John Wick the video game come to life.
A recent interview with Lionsgate's CEO has revealed that a new AAA John Wick title is possibly in development, following the lack of chances for the series to shine as a video game.
As IGN says, should Lionsgate pick up the proposals for a John Wick game, it would be the first time the franchise would be adapted into an AAA game.
Should Lionsgate adapt "John Wick" into a big budget AAA game, the high octane gunplay and choreographed fight scenes the action series has will be perfect for gameplay.
Game Rant writes that fans have been eagerly waiting for this adaptation as it has a huge potential due to its deep lore that can provide a compelling narrative to the game.
Additionally, its development should really fill in the gap in the market for third-person shooter games, Comic Book reports.
However, there is already an existing game based on the series called John Wick Hex created by Bithell Games.
John Wick Hex is a strategy game that follows the stories of the "John Wick" movie series, which gives a simple and smart touch to gaming.
"John Wick" is a box office movie franchise that was released in 2014, and now is in its fourth installation with the "John Wick: Chapter 4" movie launching in 2023.
According to Game Rant, directors Chad Stahelshi and David Letich introduced "John Wick" with a classic lone gunslinger trope.
The success of the series is seen in the way the legendary outfit of Keanu Reeves's character appeared in Fortnite as part of a cross promotion deal with Lionsgate.

Lionsgate Is No Stranger To Video Games
Lionsgate Games is the film studio's gaming division, which is behind titles like Evil Dead: The Game and Blair Witch.
In 2017, the gaming division launched its partnership project with the "Power Rangers" franchise with the release of Power Rangers: Legacy Wars.
It was an $11 million investment by Lionsgate, alongside Ridge Ventures and March Capital Partners, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Similarly, Lionsgate also announced last year that its producers were interested in developing a game based on the popular "Saw" franchise.
With news going around that a John Wick game might get adapted by Lionsgate, it is definitely something that gamers can look forward to.
