[RUMOR] Blizzard Could Release Diablo 4 Within April 2023

The Burning Hells of Diablo 4 will soon be upon Sanctuary again, and its arrival is surprisingly close.

A recent XboxEra podcast revealed that the fourth installment to Blizzard entertainment's Diablo series will be released sometime in April 2023 and that its pre-orders and early access will begin much sooner.

Diablo 4's public testing phase was previously reported to happen sometime in early 2023, per Engadget.

Diablo 4 Release Date Details

XboxEra's recent podcast mentioned that Blizzard Entertainment would release Diablo 4 sometime in April 2023. According to the sources of XboxEra's Jon Clarke, also known as Sikamikanico, a "very fancy" new trailer for Diablo 4 will be shown during the upcoming 2022 Gaming Wards on Dec. 9, along with its release date.

Unfortunately, the game has no exact release date. Despite this, gamers shouldn't have to wait more than six months if the rumor is, indeed, true.

Clarke also mentioned that the game would come with a "very sexy" special edition though he didn't delve deeper into what would make it appealing to the masses.

Furthermore, Clarke revealed that Blizzard would go full "live-service game" with Diablo 4, with many planned seasons coming after launch. The first of which is anticipated to come later in 2023.

Whether the game is going the way of the live-service model or not, Clarke said that Diablo fans should expect the game to be an "extremely mature" and gory game and that they would be feating with content for the whole of 2023.

WindowsCentral mentioned similar features in its report. According to the publication's article, the game will return to its dark, hardcore, and bloody roots. It also reflects the many feedback and criticisms given by Diablo 3 players.

Gone is Diablo 3's heavily criticized "cartoony" appearance. Diablo 4 is bloodier, which was what Clarke mentioned during the XboxEra podcast.

The article also states that the rumor behind the April 2023 launch began on the r/diablo4 subreddit and that WindowsCentral found additional evidence and various beta windows confirming the rumor.

Additionally, Diablo 4 will be supported by microtransactions, as was tackled in the game's official blog, further supporting Clarke's statement about Diablo 4 going with the live-service game model.

Meanwhile, Diablo 4's first season is allegedly scheduled for the third quarter of 2023, which is odd as it would be a few months after the game's supposed to release in April 2023.

Diablo 4 Pre-order and Early Access Release

Diablo 4's suspected release in April 2023 isn't the only thing discussed during XboxEra's podcast. Clarke mentioned that the pre-orders for the game will start at the 2022 Video Game Awards on Dec. 9, while its early access/public testing phase will begin in February 2023.

You may remember that Diablo 4's public testing phase is expected to become available sometime in early 2023, back in mid-September.

Interestingly, Blizzard allegedly made one of the pre-order benefits accessible during Diablo 4's open beta. However, there is no information that reveals what this pre-order benefit is.

Diablo 4 will soon be available on PC via Blizzard's Battle.net, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles, including the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, per Games Radar.
